Yea. Melo didn't have a D league supporting cast all those years in Denver. Despite this, the result of the series typically matched the result of the series depicted above.

Bumi son did you check who Melo was playing with and who Durant was playing with? the Celtics basicly defended Melo and Melo only, it was 1 vs 5 when these five are top defence players.
Moreover, Durant played with Westbrook & Harden, those 2 are great scoring options
How many scoring options Melo had? none, Billups was hurt, Amaree was hurt

Firstly, don't refer to my as son. Secondly, I understand. Melo's supporting cast was trash. That wasn't the case throughout his career in Denver though. And, more times than not, the result was the same. A first round exit.

But, there's always an excuse for why Melo isn't as good as Durant. I've grown accustomed to it.

Also, for what it's worth. Durant dropped 40 against Dallas and 39 against Memphis. Two very good defensive teams.

How often did Denver lose a series they should have won?

Maybe once. I don't think they ever lost a series that they should have won though, but I might be forgetting one.

Whereas everyone expected OKC to win a couple of series this year.

Two. But, perhaps if Melo were better, Denver would have been expected to win more often.

Really? Quite a few analyst had OKC losing to Denver due to out hot they'd been post trade deadline. No one had OKC in the conference finals I don't think.

Which two series was Denver expected to win?

And who picked Denver to win? A team with no go-to player was expected to take down a team with two All-NBA players? I remember almost everybody expecting OKC to run through Denver with ease. OKC was widely regarded as one of the teams that could make a run to the Finals, especially after acquiring Kendrick Perkins I remember people saying that OKC was #1 or #2 in the West depending on what they thought of the Lakers. And I could be wrong, but I don't think many people really expected the Grizzlies to beat the Thunder, more likely people were just hoping because a lot of people like to root for the underdog.

For what it's worth, I think 3 people out of about 30 here at OS picked the Nuggets to beat OKC, and literally every person that predicted the entire playoffs predicted the Thunder to either make it to the Conference Finals or make it to the NBA Finals.

                    Again, for what it's worth.

But, I wont argue it though. OKC were the favorites.

He shot the ball well (although he struggled with his 3 point shot, but still had a good % overall), averaged almost 31 points per game, 8.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2 steals per game.

I honestly don't know what series the Nuggets were the favorites to beat LA in though. LA has pretty much been favored to win every series they've participated in since getting Gasol.

Two of Durant's 3 40 point games this postseason. More 40 point postseason games than Melo has had in his career. And Durant's team won. Imagine that.
Denver plays 0 defense. Since by your own words his only 40 pt game V a team that plays D was against Dallas. So by math that makes it 1 a piece

As someone already said Melo played that game with basically with bench players & still almost willed the Knicks to a W against 1 of the Best defenses in the NBA...

                          Imagine That...

U gotta be out ur mind to say that Denver was the favorite in the LA series. Since when has LA ever become the underdog?

Me thinks people forget that there's two teams in LA. The other won, which I'm referencing, beat Denver in the playoffs 4-1 in 05-06. Melo, being the "killer" that he is. Averaged 21/7/3 with a TS% of .431.

The Clippers had a better record than the Nuggets that year, FWIW.
