Re: Let's settle this: Kevin Durant vs. Carmelo Anthony

I find it interesting that Melo has only made it out of the 1st round one time in 8 seasons of making it to the playoffs. I thought he made it further than that more than once.

Can somebody post a list of the teams they've played and the years they played them?
Acts 2:38. Let the truth be told.
John 4:23. He is seeking a seeker.
John 3:20. Say no to normal.

Didn't Denver finish like 11th as far as defensive rankings were concerned this season? And didn't they get better defensively after Melo left? I seem to remember that being the case.

Since by your own words his only 40 pt game V a team that plays D was against Dallas.
My words? When did I say Denver didn't play defense?

So by math that makes it 1 a piece
Your math is wrong. It was 3-1 these playoffs, and 3-2 throughout their respective careers.

As someone already said Melo played that game with basically with bench players & still almost willed the Knicks to a W against 1 of the Best defenses in the NBA...

      Imagine That...
      Key word.

They were 10th in their conference (15 teams) 21st in the NBA (pts allowed)

It was brought to your attention that Melo scored over 40 V Boston. You then countered by saying KD scored over 40 V Dallas when doing against good defenses was mentioned

Again were talking about scoring 40 V top defenses in the playoffs

No, you're talking about arbitrary cutoffs. I'm talking about the reality of Durant posting 3 40pt games, to Melo's 1 this post season. And 3-2 throughout their careers.

Did you actually look at the teams? Denver had Eduardo Najera and Greg Buckner starting. Clippers had what at the time was a pretty good team with Cuttino Mobley, Elton Brand, Corey Maggette (who was good once upon a time), Shaun Livingston, Chris Kaman, and Sam Cassell. And like somebody else said, the Clippers had the better record.

Have you noticed the trend? I have. There's always an excuse for Melo.

Stop it. You always have an "excuse" for whomever you defend. Basketball is a team sport and it's hard to win a playoff series when your teammates are trash.

Thought about it. Can't think of too many excuses involved in my case for Durant. Point out specifics if you wish.

For Melo? Well, now his teammates were trash.

Dude, I'm on your side here.

That doesn't mean I can't concede a single point for Melo. His team that year was trash. They won <45 games IIRC. He sucked that series, too, but I wouldn't place the blame entirely on him. Basketball is a team sport.

That particular year, yes. But 7 seasons in which you were eliminated in the first round? In series that weren't even competitive? When your own numbers were lacking? At some point, we have to stop looking at his teammates. That's all I'm saying.

So where does the fact that Melo lead a 19 win team to 43 wins and the playoffis his rookie year, but Durant couldn't post a winning record till his 3rd year in the league, AFTER the Thunder loaded up in 2009, fit in?

When were the Nuggets favored to win ANY series aside from 2008 when they went to the WCF? That's right, never.

The teammate comparison isn't even close, so we can dead that right now. Durant's first 2 playoff teams >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Melo's first 2.

So now we knock players for losing to better/favored teams in the postseason?

                              This is getting embarrassing.

I was waiting for the Denver turnaround in Melo's rookie year would come up. Durant's rookie season was abysmal. You would think given that he's so much better than Melo according to Bumi, he would have led his team to more than 20 and 23 wins in his first two seasons.
