Good job, winning championships is not the topic of the thread.

Edit: and collison didn't "torch" Derrick rose, he got injured game 2 and had little impact on the rest of the series.

Again, Dirk in 2007 would like a word with you. Amazing how short people's memories are.

If this, if that. If LBJ showed up in the Finals you wouldn't be celebrating your Dallas win.

See how easy it is to play the if game?

And your saying it's a knock against D. Rose that he was able to finish out close games in the playoffs?

Edit: every single call? Did you see how indiana was fouling the bulls the whole series

Sooooo this is how we're looking at things nowadays? This is what's hot in the streets? They were close to winning three games so they almost swept the Bulls? And lemme guess, I suppose the Bulls don't get credit for almost beating the Heat since pretty much all of those games minus the first one could have gone either way. I suppose Miami didn't almost sweep Dallas? Oh well guess some people are just going to push they're agendas and ride they're 'alot of people like this guy so I'm gonna do the rebel thing and hate him' schtick.

                  Re: D-Rose Overhyped ?

rose is one of the most promising Players in the NBA... He's a very very good player but still has Flaws in his game...

the Mvp is a popularity award it's just the NBA's way to advertise the next big player.

He is no true PG he's more like a Wade imo a shoot first PG...
now to the guys saying he had no help so he had to do it himself thus the low AST number:

Let's look at some other PG's Like Paul or Wall...
they both averaged more AST even while having a much much worse supporting cast. I'm not saying they are better player's btw (although i still think Paul is the best PG in the NBA)but while this one man Show works in the Regular season (see: Lebron with the cavs) it's to easy to stop during the PO's

So Rose is a great player but he still has the stuff to learn what it takes to be an elite PG... which he imo isn't now, but will certainly be in the future!

Wth kinda thread is this smh

Rose is overhyped if people think he's the best PG in the league. If not, then no, he isn't overhyped. Pretty simple.

People still whining about MVP?... always a good laugh. MVP award means zilch. It's a cool award but it really doesn't say that much. If you wanted to attack Rose because he won the award, you should have just bumped the MVP discussion thread.

Who exactly is overhyping him for you to make a thread like this

No. I don't buy that at all.

The media over-saturated us with Miami and to a certain extent Blake Griffin, but what exactly were they doing to overhype Rose?

He won MVP, how is he overhyped? I'll guess we'll find out a year from now if he will be one of the great scoring PG's of all time, or just a flash in the pan, damn shame too.

it was the media that gave him that MVP award... they were hyping him to heaven! and then he simply stunk it up in the playoffs...
again don't get me wrong he still has the potential to be an elite player (and chances are he will!) but for me he isn't on that level yet... it's only his 3rd year he made some big strides tho he imo isn't as good as advertised atm.

The media never ever said he had supplanted Williams or Paul for the PG throne. How exactly did they hype him to heaven?

It was simply Rose had the better overall season than either of the two, and best overall season due to injuries to other players [Dirk], players getting older [Kobe], players holding each other back [LBJ and Wade] and players who simply didn't do more with less [Durant and Howard].

I really don't think him getting the MVP means the media overhyped him at all. It was just circumstantial. Type of season where nobody really had a strong MVP resume and nobody really stood out amongst the crowd. Can't be mad that Rose won at all.
