The seven major agencies will likely get together on a conference call Friday, but nothing scheduled yet, agents say.

For players, start of the decert process doesn't preclude them from agreeing to owners proposal next week. Yet it does give them options.

    WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
Don't have full details of revised owners' proposal, but league barely moved on most of important system issues, sources say.

From team executives to agents, a lot of questions about why union needs to wait until Monday or Tuesday to bring player reps to New York.

Union has been checkmate...Fisher/Hunters body language during the presser signal that they have been beaten to submission. As a Utah Jazz fan, this new CBA will usher in a golden era of competitive basketball regardless of market size and owner wealth. This deal is a fait accompli, given the NBA's suicide offer of 47% that is lurking in the air if the Union rejects this offer.

LOL @ Hunter saying "it's not the greatest deal in the world".

Gee, I wonder why that's the case...

Agreed. I know these dudes listen to ESPN Radio, I have to hear Colin Cowherd's annoying *** advertising Gotomeeting.com every other commercial break. Use that **** or something man.
Hell, they can't have this **** on Twitter? They've damn sure spent enough time on that crap all this time so I don't see why they can't do the same with this. Or are they afraid that stuff is going to get leaked out to the public like it already hasn't?

        Ridiculous...

The new CBA isn't giving all these inept teams new front offices.
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

Hearing from players, most very interested to see how far the NBA moved on the tax issues.

Growing desire among frustrated players and "Super 7" agents to start decertification clock Friday, sources say. Final decision forthcoming

As one Eastern Conference executive just texted about 72 game sked: "Instead of (the players) missing two checks, they will only miss one."

There were small tweaks. Example: Source close to matter says league has offered opt-out after Year 6.

hopefully we can keep this thread saved so we can check in on that "competitive balance" in a couple of years

That I was. Not even opt out, perhaps a strike on the players end.
I get the feeling they're doing it just to get it done at this point, neither of them will be happy with it and we're back here sooner than later.

If the deal won't get better than this, it makes no sense to wait. Decertification is not a threat the owners are going to take seriously

Owners' new offer includes new $2.5 mill exception. Also, will raise minimum payroll for teams (used to b 75% of cap, will now b much higher)

I think the players will like the 2.5 mill exception enough to get them on board to agree to deal.

Waiting until Monday to gather player reps allows super agents a full weekend to whip up a tornado of dissent. Dangerous time. #NBA

After Tuesday's player rep meeting, a player told me the room was very divided. This won't be a landslide either way. Watch for campaigning.
