Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
Hold up, the owners are offering the players 47% now? That would mean the owners gain 10 percentage points/year over the last CBA! That's ludicrous!Originally posted by J. Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
Its still a 50/50 offer. Hunter told the press that but the owners sources are denying it. Wouldnt be the first lie by either side (Stern lied about the original 50% offer and the Union lied about Holt's "make them feel pain" statement)Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
Based on Hunter's account, corroborated by sources, league characterized its position on players' share as 47, but willing to go to 50.Comment

Re: NBA Lockout and Collective Bargaining Agreement Discussion
Still optimistic that a deal will be done early next week. They've come too far now. They have shown in the past three days that they are willing to talk in good faith. This zero-hour sticking-to-your-guns by both sides is a common tactic in these type of negotiations. I have a feeling that the owners and the players will talk amongst themselves over the weekend and one of the sides will come off their number during the next session - probably the players.Comment
