NBA to realign in 2004-2005
The NBA is going to realign itself next season when the Charlotte Bobcats enter the League. The New Orleans Hornets are going to move out west, and the 4 divisions that the L currently has (Atlantic, Central, Midwest, Pacific) will be split into 6 divisions, 3 for each conference. They said that it will have a minimal affect on the regular season.

I don't think they should keep conferences divided by East and West, they should split that up like the NFL and MLB do where you have West and East coast teams in each conference.

I like how it is east and west. They would travel too much if it was like those other sports.
In the NFL, you can get away with it, cause you don't play that many games.
In the MLB, you can get away with it, cause you're not really playing a game. Uhhh, hehe, you know what I mean. I think it's a lot less taxing on your body. And they play a bunch of games back to back against the same teams.
In the NBA, back to backs are already tough. Imagine playing 4 games in a row. No way. Teams wouldnt stand for it.
The east/west, to me, seems the best way to do it.Comment

Actually, if you look at a map, Milwaukee is a bit more east than Memphis and New Orleans.Comment
