Re: NBA to realign in 2004-2005

I love Hornets being in the west. I'm from Louisiana, so I get all the Hornets home games, but I don't like the Hornets. How ever, when they come out west, they'll have to play the Lakers a couple of times more laker games for me.

Yea, season ticket sales should go up some for New Orleans.

Oh, for sure. All the best teams are out West, with a few exceptions in the East. The people of New Orleans will definetly get their money's worth next year. That market should only get better.

New Orleans will do very good with walk up crowds, obtaining high season ticket numbers down there may be tough. I read on HornetsReport.com that season tickets for this year are way down. However, New Orleans will draw huge walk up crowds from tourist, convention goers, and other visitors to the city. The Hornets asked the NBA to schedule most of their home games on weekends and during times when large conventions are in town. That plan may work, because I plan on making the trip down to New Orleans in Decmeber to catch a Saturday night game between the Hornets and Grizzlies.

I don't think it would make much sense to separate Portland and Seattle, especially since those two cities aren't that far apart. I've made that drive up and down Interstate 5 on numerous ocassions. Phoenix fits in nicely with Los Angeles and the Northern California teams. Remember just because these teams are in separate divisions doesn't mean they won't play multiple times. Each team will play most of the teams in their conference 4 times and the remaining teams 3 times. They will play the other conference teams twice. It'll be interesting to see how they seed the playoff teams. I'm assuming the three division winners would get the top three seeds based on record. The second round will probably remain the team with the best record gets the home court advantage regardless if they're a division winner or not. Last year this was the case when Dallas had the home court edge over Sacramento in the second round even though Sacramento won the Pacific Division.

Exactly, the Hornets sell way more tickets on game day then they do in advance.....New Orleans, etc people are wierd. They rather stand in long lines.
