It's time for the Lakers to be a bottom team for a while like most of the rebuilding franchises...

Yea, it's also time for the Yankees to do the same, throw in Man U as well.

    Be realistic man.

My guess is around 25-27 teams.

There in no way means he signs with a small market team. He will end up in LA one way or another.

I wonder if the owners would have issue with the Celtics trading for Paul. The deal would be an easier sell with the deal being perceived as a 1 year rental.

Anyway you look at it, they saved money there. And it's not so much the Lakers gaining cap as it is the Hornets gaining cap.

The NBA owns the Hornets and thinks this was a bad trade. They have the right to say "no, find a better deal."

Man, what a ****ing crazy situation, though. Definitely a historic moment in NBA history.
Throw in Okafor. LOL. **** the Lakers need a PF now.

I know man lol. The small market comment was a joke. He'll end up in NY or LA. And no one can stop it. The NBA is going to have an issue.

Got to say it was funny as hell last night. My friends and I had played about 10 games with CP3 on the Lakers. And then got the news that he wasn't moving. Moved on asap to the next few teams lol

Not sure I'd be interested in buying a team that doesn't look like it'd even make the playoffs vs. a team that has alot of flexible pieces with skill. And Kevin Martin is no slouch at the 2, in an age where that is one of the weakest fielded positions.

Avery Bradley Vs. Goran Dragic, I'm taking the Goran. The draft picks are nice, I like the Clippers pick. Is it protected? Is it this year? Did the Clippers just sign Caron Butler with an ever improving Eric Gordon, and Mr. Blake Griffin? Clippers pick is probably a mid first if I had to project, and the other pick (is it a C's pick, I'm going to assume it is) is a late first rounder. Talking potential role players (generally) vs. proven players.
Dammit why do you keep calling them flexible pieces? If no superstar or borderline superstar is willing to sign with your team what good is it to have pieces? To be forever trapped in 8th seed hell is not a good thing.

On a side note, it's always fun/nauseating to see Laker fans go ballistic whenever something doesn't go they're way when 99% of the time EVERYTHING goes they're way. Must've been pissed last year that Miami fans came challenging they're most annoying fanbase title.

PPM will be happy to know his Nets signed Sheldon Williams to a one year deal.

To switch things up, Dunleavy to the Bucks, 2 yrs, 7.5 million.(We need to talk about a few small market teams, don't we?)haha

I like the length of the contract, I like the points off the bench if he only plays the 3 position.

Shorter season should help Duneleavy, hopefully.

To me, this is a Stackhouse signing. Instant points off the bench.

Hopefully, another deal is in the works.

That's what people don't understand. You can veto all the trades till you are blue in the face, but the player controls where he wants to go. LA, Miami, Boston, New York, and Dallas will always get players that want to go there. Nothing you can do.

It's ridiculous the amount of prejudice held against any and all Lakers fans on this board. Makes me question why I even post here just going to be "dismissed" because I'm "just another dumb Laker fan".

Majority of Lakers fans are pretty happy we didn't decimate our front court depth and were able to keep the size that has gotten us pretty good success (I'd venture) over the last 4 years.

Good to have pieces because A) I'd rather buy a team that has some promise and can win more than 10 games in a season and B) Because those pieces are easier to move in different flex options than CP3 who teams aren't willing to trade a great deal for knowing he's going to leave at the end of his contract.

That will never happen. As much as people love to hate the Lakers, they actually have good management. They haven't been one of the elite franchises in the league just because its a large market and people think the "NBA wants the Lakers to win." Its because they have an owner who is willing to spend to win and two executives (West and Kupcheck) who are able to make good deals.
They will have years in the future where they are an 8th seed or just out of the playoffs but I doubt this team will be a "bottom team"

Yeah, if this is any other team this thread has a entirely different tone.

Can't believe I'm actually siding with LA fans on something *shudder*

Please, put yourself into the shoes of some of the small market teams. Take a team like the Bucks.

Is there any superstar on that team? When was the last superstar on that team? Ray Allen?

That's all the Bucks have is pieces. They have to constantly overpay people to play in Milwaukee. Michael Redd, Drew Gooden, John Salmans, etc..... they have to constantly eat those contracts or trade them away for someone else's trash.

Lakers ever been in that position?

If not, count your blessings and accept where the other teams fans are coming from.

Even our 16 yr old son is disgusted with what the NBA has become.
