Afflalo would be a good fit for the Bulls. I'd still like them to see if they can get into the Dwight Howard sweep-stakes and pull off a surprise trade for him.

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
But having said that there is no way I'm giving Chandler more than 9-10 Million a year
If he's hell bent on getting paid more than if I'm Mark Cuban i'm calling ATL and offering Chandler in a S&T for Josh Smith
ATL needs a center so that they can move Horford to his natural position PF
I actually think ATL would bite on that deal and the Mavs could then move Haywood into the sarting lineup at 7 million a year as opposed to paying Chandler anything over 10 million
A lineup of Kidd, Fernandez, Smith, Dirk and Haywood really isn't that bad and you can amnesty Haywood in the summer if any of the big 3 hit free-agency (Howard, Paul or Williams)
Now lets say D.Will isn't traded and becomes a free-agent...he's said on record that dallas is a destination he'd prefer.
Now you have Dirk, D.Will and Josh Smith to build your team around next offseason....without over paying Chandler.
As a die hard Mavs fans i love the heart and energy that Chandler brought to the team but he's not a Super Star and his offensive game is lacking. He fits best as role player who can do the dirty work inside.
He's 29 already and there are no gurantees he's going to stay healthy again
It's a tough call but like i said if Cuban can turn Chandler into Josh Smith i could live with that as a Mavs fan and take my cap room into the Summer of 2012 looking for a bigger fish than Chandler.Last edited by Playmakers; 12-02-2011, 05:14 PM.NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

I think Chandler and Haywood work well together as a tag team...

Thinking about this more, I wouldn't put all my eggs in Chandler's basket and call his bluff. Dallas is an attractive place to come to, (Money, Cuban and play with Dirk), so if they have some money available someone could come knocking.
Now if you can't get Josh Smith, what do you guys peg your chances at repeating with Haywood starting, and getting maybe another rotation player or two in free agency?
BTW, I absolutely think Josh Smith is a bum in 70% of situations, but this Dallas team would be a perfect fit for him. Assuming Kidd has a few years left.Last edited by ex carrabba fan; 12-02-2011, 05:44 PM.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
I see no way Chris Paul lands on the Knicks. They have no assets to get him, so he can wish all he wants but it won't do him any good.
Most of these free-agents-to-be should just sit back, play this season out and then wait until next year to choose a team.
As a Celtics fan, I'm not sold on the idea that Chris Paul won't come play for them... I think the dust will settle a bit, and the agents will have to be honest with their clients, laying out the scenarios that can unfold...
Like a poster mentioned here, I am NOT a fan of these 3-headed monsters on teams. I did NOT like it when the Celtics assembled this current team the way they did...yes, we won a title but it felt "cheap." This whole thing in Miami, and now other teams trying to mimic that style of team development just sickens me. If this continues, the league should CONTRACT because there's no way certain teams can compete.
I also do NOT like the idea of players running the show when it comes to forcing the hand of the GM to deal them, and to a destination the player so chooses. But such is life in "today's NBA" and it's something that I have to get used to as a fan of the game since the very early 1980's...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

I just stated a fact, im not sure where the arguing is coming from.
Point being, along with that fact, we just witnessed some of the most selfish people in the world fight over something, lose games people their jobs, all to come back and do it again
They dont have to produce anymore to get outrageous money
King B...dude this is an NBA discussion in an nba forum. Nobody cares about the grocery store or inflation, we're talking basketball. If it was a worthless discussion then you guys have no reason to contribute to it.
What im seeing you do is making no sense to me.

According to sources, Nene, Chandler and Gasol all set their early asking prices in the neighborhood of maximum-contract territory, starting at $14.8 million for Gasol, $17.7 annually for Nene, and $20.7 million for Chandler.Spoiler

Tyson isn't even a real All-Star, nor even close to top 5 at his position, which is the weakest position in the league. I would put Howard, Bogut, Horford, Noah, Al Jefferson ahead of him. Then by preference, I'd take Gasol, and maybe even Bynum/Lopez over Chandler.
Luckily Cuban isn't that stupid.Comment

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
Chandler is awfully thick if he thinks he'll get a deal anywhere close to $20 million. I mean I've heard of setting the initial price high so you have room to work down but c'mon! That's about $12 million more than he should be making and about $8 million more than anybody will pay him (I hope.) He made $12.5 million last year I think. He really thinks that him staying healthy for most of one season means he should get a 70% RAISE?! LOLFavorite Sports Teams

Re: Official POST-LOCKOUT Player Movement Thread (Trades, FAs, etc)
I know it damn well better not be anybody that was apart of that hardline owners camp during the lockout. Pretty much any owner in the league that pays that kind of money to Chandler after this whole 'blame the players' lockout should be shot, but a hardliner that comes out and makes one of those deals should be stripped of ownership of their team immediately just for wasting everybody's time these past few months..Comment

If Chandler gets that type of money, they might as well just cancel the season and lock the league out again.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.
