I really don't see why Minny would trade Beasley unless somebody just makes them a great offer. I would keep him the rest of the year and see if he can get his play back up to last years numbers( that would also raise his trade value) and if not let him walk after the year and use that money to go after what you need. Also if nobody throws a big offer at him during the off season you might could bring him back at a reasonable price.

Trading Beasley would give Derrick some much needed PT. The T-Wolves got too many forwards.

Kully I think I see why Westbrook would still qualify for it if he makes all NBA this year. Durant signed his deal before the lockout so his deal was under the old 5 year max length extension rules. Since his deal didn't take effect until this season his salary wasn't determined until the cap was set this year. So with it not being set until this year started that is why they gave him the salary boost since he meet the criteria for the Rose rule.

With everything I have read saying Westbrook would qualify that is the only thng that makes sense. If it was certain he couldn't get it I'm sure the GM and Westbrook's agent would have got past that in the contract talks.

I thought something similar, that Durant's contract falls under the previous CBA and Westbrook could be the Rose rule guy. But according to this ESPN article, Durant was the first player to benefit from the Rose rule extension in the new CBA since his contract extension starts with the new CBA.

I'm thinking that the Rose rule and Designated player rule can be different, that two players can be signed to 5 year extensions, just not at the same salary level. The Rose rule guy (Durant) would make more than the designated player guy (Westbrook). So I think it works out that way.

Yeah I guess we won't find out until he actually signs a deal.

I don't think Kevin is worth 80+ million dollar deal. To me 60 is just about right. So I don't see the big deal.

Kevin Love better not re-sign. Ugh.

                Probably will.

Beasley's been hurt for a while now, giving Derrick time he's done nothing with. I think he's in the dog house now, and Beasley still isn't even playing.

I think the biggest reason Amar'e went to NY is because Phoenix wasn't willing to pay him the money (or the years, not sure which one) he was looking for. If the Suns would have gave him the cash that he's getting from the Knicks right now (or the years), he'd probably still be there.

I think you're right, let them limp into the playoffs (assuming they even make the post season, which they should) and see what they can do. I do think that if a good offer comes their way for any of the big 3 they have to seriously consider blowing that team up. Maybe go after some guys that can compliment Rondo's game because weather they like it or not he is their future right now.

The Nets have yet to offer a contract extension to Brook Lopez and are unlikely to do so before the Jan. 25 extension deadline for players drafted in 2008, according to general manager Billy King.

"I'm sure I'll have a conversation with his agent [Arn Tellem]," King told reporters before Wednesday night's game against the Warriors.

"But I don't know if we'll do anything with him at this point. I think you just have to wait. They may throw a number at you that makes sense."

Lopez, who remains out with a fractured foot, is in the last year of his rookie contract and will make roughly $3.1 million this season.

It's hard to gage. It depends on what the scenario.

If what I heard on ESPN is true, Ray Ray and KG expire this year and clear up like $30+ million, so I'd just keep them and make a move in free agency (not sure who all is going to be free agents next year though). ESPN believes Pierce is the only one that might be moved (which would be so unfortunate considering he's been there his entire career).

Could Boston use KG or Ray Ray's expiring contract as some sort of piece in a Dwight Howard trade?

I'd like to see them be moved to a contending team though. Maybe Denver or Portland to get them out of the Eastern Conference but to a contending team that's lacking in go-to players?
