And if these rumors are true...they just hurting any leverage they have. Shut up, blow smokescreens about another player you're high on ("we're going to take Rivers at #8...he'll be an all-star") and then trade down.
Not a chance in hell Waiters will be a Terry clone. I think he's closer to a poor mans Rodney Stuckey or a shorter, worse shooting version of JR Smith (minus the whole ******* part, but still including the awful shot selection)

That's sounds personal. Players improve man.

So he has a ceiling of Jason Terry and a basement of Stuckey/Smith. That's not horrible.

Just saying he's bad value as a Top 10 player in the draft and I'd say the same for both Stuckey and Smith too.

I don't think that's his basement lol. Terry and Waiters just aren't alike. Waiters could be a burst off the bench kinda guy but their skillsets are basically opposites.

              Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion

The intrigue of this draft keeps growing... everyone had favorable measurements...

Fringe and smaller name guys are showing out [Orlando Johnson, Lillard, Leonard, guy from St. Johns, guy from Memphis]

You have the Royce White flying anxiety story, the Orlando Johnson life tragedy story, Waiters somehow getting a promise story, Hornets with two top 10 picks, Bobcats apparently shopping the #2 pick

Most of the lottery prospects definitely don't have All-Star written all over them, so after Davis it's looking like a wide-open crap shoot

Good thing for GM's is that there's about 20+ guys who all seem to be at least rotational players

Whomever messes up and picks a dud, sucks for you

                Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion

Jun 8, 2012 - If he won't be the No. 2 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, Thomas Robinson is expected to be the second big selected.

As recent expected No. 2s Derrick Williams and Michael Beasley did, Robinson is walking around as if the team with the No. 1 pick just may be making a mistake by not picking him.

Robinson was about two hours late for his 1 p.m. scheduled media appearance at the Draft Combine in Chicago on Thursday. Scheduled at the same time as expected No. 1 pick Anthony Davis, Charlotte media folks were quick to establish positioning at Robinson's table, hoping Davis would absorb the crowd.

Instead, those waiting for Robinson saw Davis come and go with 22 other prospects over the next hours before Robinson appeared.

After about five minutes of not really being worth the wait, Robinson was asked about Davis' T-shirt, which read, "CHECK THE STATS."

"If you check the stats, I'll be the number one pick -- easily," Robinson replied. "I should wear a shirt that says: 'Numbers Don't Lie'."

He added: "I think I play at a different level than everybody else. A different intensity level. Everybody don't show up every night. I'd say I'm one of the players that do."

When asked if he would take out frustrations on teams that pass on drafting him, he replied: "I'm gonna try to kill everybody."
Thomas Robinson comes out as one of the only people on the planet who thinks he, not Anthony Davis, ought to be the No. 1 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. He and other big men dominate the first day of the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago.

Couple notes from ESPN's coverage of the combine

-Jay Williams consistently disses unnamed teammates on his Chicago team... it's hilarious, saying they were too busy checking their box scores to care about the game.. saying they checked out a lot.. lol

-Kidd Gilchrist has a studdering problem.. interesting.. he seems like a good kid though

-Seriously, these guys have the worst tattoos I've ever seen... beyond awful :/.. Beal and Royce White I'm looking at you

Great measurements by this class. I think this class will infuse the NBA with some much needed off guard talent. I don't think 6'4" or 6'5" can really be considered "undersized". 6'6" or 6'7" isn't really the norm anymore. You've got Kobe, Joe Johnson, and Derozen (who's probably better suited for the 3) but the rest of the top SG's are between 6'3" and 6'5"(Wade, Ginobli, Harden, Ellis, E Gordon, R Allen, T Allen, etc.).

No. But no one would've imagined him to be the consistent player that he has grown to become.

Maybe Waiters pulled that stuff in Cuse because he knew he could get away with it.

                          Just saying...I think he's a good prospect...skill-wise.

Every year there's 1 or 2 guys who get "promises" by certain teams.

We should be in rebuilding mode and instead he thinks that we are a year or 2 away from competing with Miami and Chicago. From what I have read, he is looking to get Rudy Gay or make a trade with any team that is willing to take Tyrus Thomas and Diop's crappy contracts. (by the way, he signed them to those contacts.

What we should be doing is looking for a way to make a trade with Portland to get their 6th pick. They need a PG, so trade DJ Augustine and Gerald Henderson for the 6th pick. Then you have a chance of getting a legit weapon in Bradley Beal. Cleveland will pass on him and get Barnes because he is best friends with Kyrie Irving.

If we could get the 2nd and 6th pick getting (Robinson and Beal or Lamb) we would have a great set of players to work with in the future. Imagine PG Walker G Beal F Maggette PF Robinson C Mullins/Biyombo.
That is a good step, we will then get a chance at the lottery next year and Shabazz Muhammad.

Bottom line is we are not ready to compete and we should attempt to follow the OKC, Spurs formula of drafting talent and building a team. Instead, Jordan really thinks that players want to play for him. They do not, if they did we would have some all star talent. Instead we have scrubs. If we build on our youth and start winning they will want to stay on board and compete when their contracts are up.

                              Just my two cents...

Anthony Davis as 1 ok I'm a UK fan he has great shot blocking Potential. He has no post game, but he's got to turn out better than Greg Oden for anyone. Love the kid but damn on the offensive side of the ball, they had him pull high every play and clear out for UK, hopefully he has some trick up his sleeve. Supposedly he can handle like a guard I hope so. Marcus Camby type I'm seeing not too bad though for a #1
