idk, whats wrong w/ college coaches when he leads his hs team in Cali to a state championship his senior season and doesn't even get a D1 scholarship offer?

For all the talk about how he's hyped so much because he's asian, the other side of the coin is that he's been discriminated even more for that same reason. It's kind of ironic that he wouldn't be getting all this hype if he had been given a fair opportunity from day 1.

You can bet your *** they saw he was Asian and played for Harvard and the first thing that popped into their heads was "unathletic".

I wouldn't do that if I were him.

I'd probably still be rolling around on the floor, alternating between laughing hysterically and clucking like a chicken.

I hit a game 2/3 court, game-winning shot one time for my intramural basketball team in college and got tackled at half-court by my team, landed on my back, and lifted both fits in the air ala Zo when he hit his buzzer-beater in that mid-'90's playoff series with about 8 dudes on me. My best sports-related-feeling ever.

NONE of us can even come CLOSE to imagining how freaking good it feels to do what Lin is doing right now. He could've yelled out, "We're going STREAKING!" like Will Ferrell in Old School and I wouldn't be mad at the kid. Like I said before, "Get your swag on, homie". IMO, no reaction is over-the-top in a situation like his.

I don't know, dropping his shorts and wagging his wang probably would have been a little over-the-top.

Before tonight's game I was just in awe of what he had done. I had no idea where this ride was going to take me but if it stopped all of a sudden, they could never take away this amazing week. But after tonight's game, I am starting to sense some greatness in Lin.

But I'm just enjoying the ride now.

He did set another record too. Most turnovers in the first 5 starts of a career. Lol He definitely has to work on taking care of the ball. 8 TO is not good. He tries to make passes that some times aren't there, some times it works, most times it doesn't.

Kid has some skills for sure. Like I said in the other thread, not an upper echelon PG by any means but he can ball. See him more like a Stephen Curry-esque player.

Yes I compared him to someone, but I needed more than one game to make any assessment. I think he is in the perfect system for his game, but the positive is that he also has some skills of a more traditional PG as well. I think him and Stoudemire are going to fit well together, once they gain that chemistry working off each other in the PnR. Still going to be interesting if Melo can stick to his word of playing off Lin. He still holds the ability the kill this whole Linsanity hype.

I also question the NBA's talent evaluators in these organizations that he had been in. How do you not see that this kid can play? I don't get it.
Yeah, but the turnovers should drop as he's able to relax and let the game flow for him. He's probably pressing, trying to make plays.

Also, it does make you wonder how guys like Lin go under the radar while scrubs like Hasheem Thabeet get drafted high. I guess that's why certain teams constantly rebuild and certain teams just reload.

Love the fact that they were in Toronto and the whole crowd was standing for the last possession. Good stuff.

Crazy how a couple of years ago Knicks fans were cheering like that for opposing players when they were witnessing something special, now we've got opposing fans cheering like that for someone on the Knicks... what is the world coming to!

I'm amazed that he had the confidence to not go to Amar'e in that situation.

Well yeah. But he would deserve MVP consideration then, wouldnt he?

I would have thought that tonight, with Stoudemire returning, that he would have seen a drop in his TOs, so I was kind of surprised to see he had 8 tonight. Like I had said, he seems to try and force passes that aren't there, and have seen him pick up his dribble in some questionable spots, and then be forced to make a bad pass. I believe he'll get it cleaned up though.

I understand him not getting a fair shake in GS with Curry and Ellis there, but Houston should smack themselves and the Knicks should too for almost cutting him. Glad he got a chance now, because this system really caters to his play. Not sure that he would have exploded on to the scene like this if he was on another team.

I know he's watching Nash tapes non stop. Instead of forcing passes like has been, he should just dribble back out and setup again like nash does.

Another thing maybe he can develop is a fadeaway shot. When Nash gets stuck after driving after a pick and there are no options he'll bust a fadeaway along the baseline which I think can be a good weapon if all his options are covered.
