I never said you were trolling or pulling a fast one. I said you were late. Real late.

ESPN covered this two weeks ago.

In fact anything you think is new about him likely isn't because ESPN has already written the man's entire life history over the past two weeks.

I was planning on taking this NBA season "off" (lockout / took baseball "off" last year and want to delve into that, etc.)...

Lin putting the NYN backs on the map was intriguing, but when they added one of may all time fav players, JR Smith to the mix...

              Well...

I saw the majority of the second half thru to the end of today's ABC broadcast at the gym...

This team looks as exciting (to me) as that Nelly Ball Warriors team that went to the Western Finals a few years back and the White Chocolate Kings of yore...

Most likely gonna be the "Must See TV" team of this years playoffs...

that's actually a really good comparison. If Melo can play as well as he has in the past, this team is going to be a good team come playoff time.

                      Re: Jeremy Lin

Lin has been incredible this far, and i feel incredible is an understatement. Yeah, the turnover numbers are bad but putting up a 2:1 assist to turnover ratio isn't shoddy and the fact he is aggressive and attacks relentlessly is what I like most about his game. He doesn't hang his head after a turnover, instead he races back on D. He is a hustle guy who has tremenduous skill, there is no denying that.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a player who has commanded a double team less than ten games into his career, it's amazing the respect this guy has commanded from the opposition. With Melo coming back tomorrow night, the Knicks are going to be a really solid team. Melo is going to have to fit into Dantoni's system now because the team has really come together and is playing great together and Melo's old style of stopping ball movement would kill the team's current chemistry. It sounds strange that Melo should fit in and play within the new system with Lin, but it's to his benefit as Melo will get better looks with Lin and won't have to create by himself.

What people forget is that steals basically negate turnovers; basically, he's causing turnovers as much as he's creating them.

Taking this past game into account, his 5 steals generally negate 5 of his turnovers, so he essentially had a 7:1 ratio. Of course, TOs are bad, but...

Another way you could look at it is, if a player finished with 10 assists and 10 turnovers, he basically didn't contribute positively in that aspect because he gave the ball away as much as he created opportunities.

Well apart from Tebow, which I thought was a joke, I can't remember too many flavor of the months having an impact like Lin. I found myself going to a local bar Fri night to catch the Knicks game. I'm not even big on basketball or NY, but I find this story amazing.

The kid is really likeable, and unlike Tebow he is putting up record breaking numbers. Sure ESPN might be riding the story a bit, but at least a lot of the hype is warranted.
