    Re: Nuggest vs Cavaliers

Lebron can't do everything. He can't break his man down off of the dribble, he can't shoot. He currently does not have the kind of game that he is hyped to have. He cannot take a game over, he can certainly maintain and run an offense though. Melo and lebron are two different types of players. Melo is a scorer, Lebron is a stats man. It depends on what your team needs. Michael Jordan was a scorer and a defender, never got many triple doubles, Magic was a stats man. I take Jordan everytime. Again, Lebron has to get his feet under him in regards to having a NBA type offensive game, Melo has that, he just has to learn the NBA flow, (Melo is actually not bad at rebounding) Against tough defenses that are going to require the Cavs to have a half court offense,Lebron is going to struggle, why? because he can't shoot or twist cats up. Will he learn this? I hope so. Is game is not spectacular it is just sound. T-Mac, Kobe, Iverson, that is spectacular game play. Lebrons game is not built like those guys.

He can do it all as far as stats are converned. I think overall he does have the game he was hyped up to have, which is a distributer and athletic around the basket. I dont think he was hyped up to seem like an animal 1 on 1, more of a guy that makes everyone around him better.

I know it wasn't your intent but Melo is nowhere near Jordan in his rookie year. Of course, I'd take the greatest player of all time over Magic Johnson. You can't use Jordan in this discussion or many others b/c he was the best player ever and there was no one like him in the history of the league.

Bron seemed to do pretty well against Sacto...yes he had some fastbreak buckets but he looked good in the halfcourt sets also.

A lot of questionable choices in my opinion. The offense ran through Z and no matter how many players collapsed around him he refused to pass. James wasn't involved in the offense, stood on the weak side and lost interest. Instead of having the ball in his hands Bremer and Ollie ran the point. The The team was flat and played with no heart. The short time Diop was involved he attempted to play defensive while no body else cared.
All that and they only lost by 5. If they pretended like they wanted to win they had a chance. Go figure.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Lebron standing around on the strong side near the 3-point line. I agree w/ you that Lebron lost interest.

for such a young team, the cavs play with almost 0 intensity...they seem rather disinterested. They are so unactive on defense.

                        Re: Nuggest vs Cavaliers

You are correct, in no way shape or form am I comparing Melo or Lebron to Jordan. What I am saying is that Lebron doesn't have the game he has been hyped to have. You say he was hyped as good around the basket and a distributor, I say he was hyped as the second coming. To that end his nba game is no where near being the best player in a couple of years. Is he a solid player?...yes. Melo is a scorer, the fans love a scorer. If you think that Nike and all the other endorsers that Lebron has acquired are going to be satisfied with him being a distributor and active around the basket you are sadly mistaken. The cav fans will tire of that. Lebron was brought in to bring the cavs to the promised land, right now he does not have the game or team to do that. When I say he does not have the game, what I am really saying is he does not have the mentality to conquer or subdue, he is just efficient, he has to acquire what Carmelo has...killer instinct. If you are going to introduce his stats as the barometer by which to measure him, understand that game against sac was not the norm for him. Lebron is not a good shooter, in the sac game he was. His last two games have been awful. I won't bind him to his stats I will apply what I see in his game. He has great court awareness, but he has to learn to attack the basket in a half court set and he has to obtain a consistent jump shot, if he does not, the hype will die very fast. I honestly hope he does succeed.

I agree with NovaStar, it’s cute that he’s passing the ball, but he plays with absolutely zero passion, like NovaStar said he is efficient. He’s almost too poised. And that standing around isn’t all Silas’ fault. If a player wants to be involved in a game he will MAKE himself involved in the game. Look at Kobe and McGrady, those are guys that demand the rock. Right now his game is a little too precious. Like I said the rebounds and assists are nice, but he's got to make the guy defending him work a little harder. Get to the basket man. Take it hard. Players like him and Jason Williams I wish could just learn something from a guy like AI, Kobe, or Tracy. Those guys BRING IT every night.
