Well, I and others have talked about how the Spurs need X, Y, and Z people to score more, but really, they dropped 103 on them. That should win you 75% in the playoffs. Where's the defense? I think the Thunder have got 100+ every game. I understand you cant stop Durant, but you can stop Westbrook (they basically did tonight, 9/24), limit Harden, and limit the role players.

I guess you can attribute part of the defensive struggles to the offense/turnovers, which gets OKC in the fast break. So if I'm Pop, my #1 priority game 6 is to slow the game down and have as few turnovers as possible. If that happens i think everything else can fall into place.

Tony Parker: 4 assists, 5 turnovers
Emanuel Ginobili: 7 assists, 5 turnovers

      Can't have that.

The last time the Spurs lost game five of a playoff series to fall down 3-2 in a series was in 2008 against New Orleans. Of course, it must be noted that home court was flipped in that one as NO had home court. The Spurs lost the first two games in NO, but SA won the two in SA and lost the next one @ NO. The Spurs then won games six (in SA) and seven (on the road @ NO). Ginobili went off in both games, scoring a game-high 25 and 26 points, respectively.

That was the 2008 Western Conference Semifinals. The Spurs went on to the Conference Finals, where they got ran into a buzz saw in the form of the Lakers and lost that series 4-1.

Yes, it's utterly irrelevant, but I must have hope!

The Spurs were also down 3-2 in last year's series against Memphis, but SA won game five last year. They couldn't win at Memphis, though, unfortunately, and we got to see the #1-seeded Spurs make a sad first round exit...
Sadly this has a more 2004 Lakers series feel to me. Invincible the first two games and then they change the scheme. Role players choke and the rest is history.

At least OKC isn't a despicable team, I wouldn't have any problem cheering for them should they advance.

Man, what can I say. The Thunder are just on a roll. Durant is playing at another level, right now. Spurs need to dig down deep and fight for this next game. Win or go home......

been so impressed with KD's play in the playoffs very consistent production and coming up big in 4th quarters overall (had people questioning him in game 1 and 2) his improvement in the offseason has really carried over in the regular and post season.

I dont know man. Gonna be close.

The next game is a must win for the Spurs. If OKC wins next game, I dont think they can bounce back in this series.

Man I hope if the thunder do indeed beat the spurs, that their opponent is the heat in he finals. Having Lebron lose to Durant would be pretty epic

I still wonder why Manu was in the starting line yesterday. Their bench came out flat yesterday.

Well I saw this coming a mile away. In my opinion this series has been over since Game 3. Game 3 the Thunder figured out how to contain the pick and roll, play tough defense all game and share the ball on offense. That was the key for beating the Spurs. The last 3 games have all played out the exact same way more or less.

I do find it very interesting how a team can go from looking like a powerhouse one day to completely falling off the next. This has happened 2 years in a row to the Spurs. Great regular seasons then fall short in the postseason. Give credit to the Thunder though, they are just the better team right now. They will give Miami a definite run for their money.

And Scott Brooks is a great coach. Every word I've heard him say has been on point. Dare I say he has outcoached Popovich this series. I hate saying that, but for one, I agree with Charles Barkley that it was a mistake starting Ginobli. You basically conceded the fact that Danny Green was not going to give you production at all. You know damn well Green had no chance once he was taken out of the starting lineup. So instead of riding out the storm and hoping Green could turn it around, Pop basically took away any chance he had of contributing.

Of course, had they won the game, Pop would have probably been called a genius for starting Ginobli, since he had such a big game. That's why I don't like getting too high or low off just a few games. But anyway, I expect the Thunder to close it out next game.

Also, Derek freaking Fisher has been great. He hasn't hit all his shots, but he's shooting with no hesitation, lots of confidence and contributing in different ways when he's out on the floor. He looks like the perfect role player out there. It's great to see the old guy still getting it done and playing key minutes.

If the Thunder knock off the Spurs and go on to defeat Miami/Boston, they will have beaten 4 of the past 6 teams that have won the NBA championship in the last 13 years, 9 of which belong to the Spurs and Lakers. And Durant is only 23.
