    Re: 2013-14 Transactions Thread

If Chandler can be the defensive force he's supposed to be, I feel like they could overcome Calderon's defensive deficiencies (did I spell that right?). And Felton is a poor defender as is.
He hasn't been that in a while, in case you've noticed. Or at the very least, not the same player he was in Dallas but I guess that's expected when you're having Neck/Back(?) issues and now a leg injury on top of it.

And if Felton is a poor defender(which he is)I don't think it makes sense to add another one to that position for them haha.

As for Ilyasova, I guess. I just never been infatuated with him and don't think there would be much of a difference with him on the team instead of Bargnani.

Oh, I was assuming that Calderon would probably be replacing Felton and that Felton would be going somewhere else.

And Ilyasova is significantly better than Bargnani IMO. After the all-star break last year, he averaged 18 and 10 per 36 minutes while shooting something like 47% from the field, 45% from 3, and 80% from the FT line if I remember right. He's one of the best shooters in the NBA, and he's a very good rebounder as well.

        2013-14 Transactions Thread

Shooting isn't necessarily what they need, which is/was also part of my point about why he wouldn't make them any better than what they currently are. Never argued that Bargs was a better player either BTW. Take their performance tonight as a prime example, especially on the defensive end as to why I made that statement earlier.

And even if Calderon was replacing Felton, again what does replacing one blackhole on defense with another really solve? Lol it'd be nothing more than a lateral move.

I think Calderon would make a significant impact offensively. Far better shooter and passer than Felton. And Ilyasova is a far better shooter and light years better rebounder than Bargnani.

Personally, I don't think it's possible to do anything with this Knicks team to make them contenders, but they can't try to rebuild unless they want to get rid of Melo, which I don't think they want, so they might as well try to make them better. It's either that or they just wait around for 2 years, letting Melo get older while they wait for all their bad contracts to expire.

You're still missing the point so I'll just go ahead and drop this so we'll both stop repeating the same thing, which is what's going on.

I understand what you're saying. You're saying that you don't think those guys would address their defensive woes right? I'm saying the defense wouldn't get any worse, and it would make the offensive cohesion much better, which would make the defensive issues not matter quite as much. If they're scoring more, and allowing the same amount of points, that's making them better.

But at the end of the day, I think they've kinda backed themselves into a corner that they won't be able to get out of anyways.

If I'm still missing the point, I apologize lol. But I don't think improving at one end while remaining the same or slightly better at the other is a lateral move.

I think all this Calderon discussion is irrelevant because Dallas isn't trading him.

Especially not for Raymond ****ing Felton.

But the Offense/scoring isn't the issue, which is my point man lol. Because if it was, I doubt we'd be hearing rumors about them trading for Faried.

But it's also not necessarily improving the team either. It basically means your one dimensional and no team that's trying to win a championship wants to be known as that.

I never liked Jose before and still don't like him. I'd take Felton before I'd take Jose.

Really? You don't want a guy who almost never turns the ball over and shoots over 40% from 3 point land? I know he's got his defensive deficiencies but is he really that much worse than Felton?

The Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers continue to monitor Lamar Odom’s progress as closely as they can, and would consider signing the enigmatic free-agent forward should Odom prove that his personal and legal issues are behind him, according to sources with knowledge of both teams’ thinking….
Odom recently began training again with an eye toward making a return to the floor during the second half of the season, sources have said.

That's a good question... I think the Rockets need a stretch 4. Maybe Brags from the Knicks lol jk.
