I never trust ESPN "sources" wake me up when deal is done.

Re: 2013-14 Transactions Thread
Taken from Rotoworld,
"The Raptors and Knicks are reportedly "trying to construct a deal" that would send Kyle Lowry to New York.
Toronto is focused on the future and Lowry's expiring contract makes him a likely trade chip, while the Knicks are desperate for help at PG with Raymond Felton (hamstring) out 2-3 weeks. There aren't any details to report and it sounds as though the talks are in early stages, but it would be somewhat surprising if Lowry is still wearing a Raptors uniform at the All-Star break."
I really don't understand why the Raptors want to get rid of Lowry. His currently got a decent contract, he still young (27) and he can ball. I can definitely see him as one of the veteran leaders and floor general for the Raptors for many years to come. I mean he can be injury prone at times but c'mon, who you gonna replace him with?
Don't really see how trading Lowry would be good though if best thing Raptors get back is Felton. Is Felton really that good?Comment

Re: 2013-14 Transactions Thread
Raptors trading him cause he'll be a UFA,so he'll be the one in control of his future. Meaning 2 options(if Raptors kept him) would be to pay a high amount, or just let him walk(like MANY others have in Raptors history). Not to mention that they traded away his best friend, so would he want to re-sign with a non playoff team who split him and his best friend up just months after they were reunited.....

Re: 2013-14 Transactions Thread
1st rounder would be 2018 though, quite some time away. Though maybe Raptors might try to then trade that pick(and risk potentially trading away a good pick) and go all in for 2014 draft.
Felton + Hardaway wouldn't work, it'd have to be Shumpert. Unless adding cash to a deal balances out contracts or something(cause if Felton or Hardaway cost more(or Lowry cost 70,000 less) ,the deal would've worked)Comment

You guys might finally have a choice on draft night in 2020 or so. It's crazy how that front office has traded away so many picks.Cincinnati Reds University of Kentucky Cincinnati Bengals

Re: 2013-14 Transactions Thread
Woj saying Felton, Metta, and the 2018 first rounder for Lowry. Knicks not sure whether they are willing to give up the pick, but obviously in that package the pick is the key to the deal.
Given our history, there is no chance we are choosing a pick 5 years from now over an upgrade for this season.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: 2013-14 Transactions Thread
Oh my God, possibly another first round pick traded away for New York? Lowry is not worth all that.
Knicks just need to blow it up or keep what they have. Don't trade anymore picks man.Comment

Re: 2013-14 Transactions Thread
anyone have the rumored trade in terms of actual players/picks going?
--i read somewhere earlier that if gay is traded lowry will be as-well becasue lowry wouldn't resign without rudy in toronto.
also if the warriors can trade for lowry steph won't have to play 45 a game and its that much more 3pt shooting lols >>
melo bout to be playing in toronto tho...hence why they moved rudy first!Comment

Re: 2013-14 Transactions Thread
Rumored deal is:
Felton,MWP,2018 1st round pick(which seems like the dealbreaker for Raptors) for Lowry
Carmelo won't be traded here. Ujiri got rid of him in Denver cause he didn't want to stay, no way he'll want to go through that again(knowing Toronto isn't a team big name players want to play on and Carmelos deal expires at end of the year...won't work out)Comment

Typical Knick move. Mentioned it in our team thread - we're giving up a pick to put a band-aid on a mortal wound. More foolish, short-sighted management."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: 2013-14 Transactions Thread
yeah was a joke ^^ but anyways....if knicks trade another 1st it will litteraly be impossible for them to rebuild until the 20's i hope they do it too because the trade makes toronto worse if you ask me....so both teams get worse(lowry will fight melo for the ball lol!)
also, what do you guys think of the "trade tibs to NY" rumorComment
