If Parker was to grow a another 2 inches, maybe I could see him as a stretch 4. Other than that, he's gonna be a wing player. Depending on what type of team he's on, there maybe times where he plays the 4 in limited minutes. He might be part of a 'small lineup' package for a team.

Re: 2014 Draft Class
^^ Totally agree with you! ^^ basically in the mold of LeBron, Durant, and Carmelo.
Here is a nice break down of the match-up...

Re: 2014 Draft Class
I would actually be quite surprised if he was a 4 in the nba. His game is premised very much so on being a wing creator and scorer. I don't think he'll be able to defend 4's. He's pretty much in the mold of granger, pp, melo etc

I like the Melo comparison, especially from the Cuse. Primarily a wing player but can go to the post. I think he's a better rebounder and defender at this stage too.Comment

Re: 2014 Draft Class
Stretch 4 is completely different from a regular 4. I think he will take 4's outside since his handle is pretty solid and eventually post up smaller 3's. He's already 6'8 225ish. In a few years he'll add more muscle to his frame and get around 235-240.

As far as defense he has very quick hands and if he shows he has quick feet and is able to contain the pick and roll he can be very valuable depending on what your defensive philosophy is. I can't wait till he adds a little bit of that Melo bully ball to his game though. Free-Throws galore should that ever happen.
As for Wiggins. I liked what I saw from him out on the perimeter as far as defense. There are very very very few people in college capable of shooting over Wiggins. Needs to hit the weight room though. Got straight bullied when he was down there defending the post.
Liked what I saw from Selden. Doesn't look like he has the first step or the handles to get consistently by his defender, so I'd like to see him in more pick and roll options. Especially with just how good of a passer he is. Simply mind-blowing. I swear he was the only guy on the court out there who was capable of throwing a low post entry pass. I see a lot of Lance Stephenson in him actually.Comment

Re: 2014 Draft Class
^^ I'm not so sure I agree on that. Parker had some pretty crazy moves the other night and is very skilled. I don't think the notion can be dismissed so easily, we need to see more of Parker.
Melo was an animal on the glass at Cuse though, I don't know if Parker will put up similar numbers. Melo was def quicker too, that's why I threw out the Pierce/Melo mix the other night. Parker has the slow, keep-you-off-balance smoothness that Pierce has."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Agreed. I can definitely see more of a Paul Pierce type game from Jabari than that of a Melo.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

Re: 2014 Draft Class
I agree with Dice and ehh.... But I think we haven't seen his med range game yet. So I'll hold off on the Melo talk.
But guys when a player can make a steal. Take the ball full court like this. And get into the lane like this. And finish like this. I want to say I see LeBron/Grant Hill/Durant/Paul like skill here without the crazy ups.
I think he'll get his fair share amount of boards. He going to be playing out of position for most of the season.

Re: 2014 Draft Class
They've played like two games lol.. I really like Parker's game, but I'm not already gonna compare the guy to MeloComment

These kids are refreshing though, I'm referring to Randle and Parker. You can see that they at least have the fundamentals down for the most part, the intangibles. Pretty refined for such young kids.Comment

Re: 2014 Draft Class
This class is loaded plain and simple.. It should have lots of depth with lots of great players..
But their is a reason that 03/04 class is one of the best ever.. LeBron and Melo were so damn good coming out of high school. Both of them were like nothing I have ever saw, including Kobe Bryant and including all of these guys..
They could all end up better than any of those guys once their professional careers are over.. But for right now I'm not calling any of them LeBron or Melo.
And as I great as I think Parker is going to be, I don't feel that he is as good as what Melo was. All around... He may end up better, as a college player and as a pro.. But as far as him just coming out of high school, none of these guys compare to those two.. Not yet, IMO..
And I don't even like Melo, didn't then either lolComment

Re: 2014 Draft Class
I actually think Grant Hill pre-injuries is almost overrated, in my opinion.
He and Penny seem to get God like praise, which is understandable, they were both one-of-a-kind talents with blessed physical tools and instincts.
I just think they're potential for greatness somewhat makes them overrated to a lot of folks.
If Parker gets anywhere near Hill's caliber you're looking at a perennial all-star. But again, I'm going to slow down on the predictions and let the kids play ball.Comment

Re: 2014 Draft Class
That's not a travel! Look at when he gathers the ball. Don't start counting when he stop dribbles.
But I understand you guys that don't want to jump on any kids. But I've always been all about them. (That sound completely wrong. But you know what I mean)
