Williams had a more consistent jumper at Illinois and was much more of a distributor than Smart. I love the intensity Smart plays with but I'm not a fan of his skill set. Athletically he's kind of like Lance Stephenson but he doesn't have Lance's handle.

I really like Nick Johnson. Seems like a great glue guy, it'll be interesting to see how an NBA team can fit him in. I could see him going at the end of the first round.

PJ Hairston apparently is putting up big scoring games in the NBDL. He dropped 45 in his most recent game. He'll get some fringe first round looks I'm sure.

Nik Stauskas also is showing some things. Seems to be in the Klay Thompson mold.

There is hope though based on the Lance comparison. Lance looked like crap in his year at Cinncy.

Was he there 1 or 2 years? I can't remember.

Yeah he did, but I am okay with it because he actually was aggressive. I'd much rather him have a bad game while being aggressive like this then being conservative and being like 2-3 or something.

Embiid was hurting today, but he played bad too. He can't handle guys that are physical with him.

                Re: 2014 Draft Class

I actually really liked Lance in college and expected him to be a good scorer in the league. I didn't expect him to do what he's done this year and become a triple double threat, and a good ball handler.. But I expected him to be a scorer and was more surprised that it took 3 years for him to really even find a role on his team than I am with what he's doing now.

Yeah I agree with that. And he did hit a big 3 towards the end before their last chance run failed.

I'll say about Embiid what I've said from day one. He would really benefit from staying at least another year in college. Still really excited to see where his potential takes him in the future.

Not really. If you cut off his left hand he wouldn't be able to feed himself. His range isn't even out to the college 3 pt line.

2nd round pick if that IMO. Having said that, that was hands down the best game I've ever seen from him. Never seen him look so comfortable making things happen off the bounce. Usually he's a turnover waiting to happen any time he puts the ball on the ground.

So someone on this board has first hand knowledge of the most unknown Top 3-5 pick in the next draft, Dante Exum, and NOBODY asks anything? Shame on you!

So lolersaurus, what can you tell us about Exum? Is he Top 3-5 good? Better shooter? Handling? Quickness?

                          Any insight you can share?

I'll be completely honest with you, back when he went to my high school, about all he could do was run fast and dunk, or at least that's all I really paid attention to he was 15 before he left for the AIS, and I was 13, back then I wasn't as into basketball as I am now, so sorry but I've got no real insight on his game back then

I'm thinking Lance Stephenson as a comparison. He can't handle the ball like him though. He's definitely a good defender from what I have researched. He needs work on his jump shot and going left. The NBA scouts or whomever scouts players from overseas have the tendency to give these guys a top 5 position on a NBA draft board. Honestly I think he's a decent player who should go top 5 only if your interested in making him your franchise player. I think he's a bit overrated, but he will eventually make noise after his 3rd or 4th year.

Lance Stephenson??? This kid is a tall, skinny, lanky combo guard. What comparison do you see with Lance? Just wondering.

I'm not sure who I would compare him to. His game looks to be smooth and fluid and he seems to be a very capable playmaker.. I don't like the Penny comparisons, he's not nearly that explosive. He doesn't seem to like trying to finish with his left, but looks to have a decent one dribble pull-up.. Only NBA comparison I can really think of would maybe be MCW?

I can understand drafting him high if you are hoping on him to develop to his full potential.. But honestly if I were a team drafting for a combo guard with good size and wanted immediate production I would feel safer with Zach LaVine. I think he's much more athletic and a better shooter.. And I think he's ready for NBA size and speed.. Exum will probably take a little longer to adjust.. It's tough to pass on the potential though.
