    Re: 2014 Draft Discussion

New to this thread and reading through a little looks like most people are talking about the top 3. IMO a case could be made for any of the 3 at 1 and all will be playing in multiple allstar games

Interested in hearing your guys take on the 3 top PFs. I personally think Vonleh is far an away the best prospect of the 3 and should be taken by the magic at 4. ( Not sold on Smart as a pro and think Exum will have a hard time coming to the NBA ) If the Magic do go with Vonleh could see them trying to trade down to the 15-20 range for Lavine Ennis or Payton.

Let me know what you think

We'll see. He's not a very good shooter yet, so they can give him a step, and the one thing he really excels with is scoring in the post, where most PFs will be able to defend him. He's not really a good finisher or passer as well yet. I think he has it in him, but I don't think he's nearly as NBA ready as a lot of others seem to. I don't think he steps in and scores 20 a game as a rookie like I've seen a lot of fans of his suggest.

        Re: 2014 Draft Discussion

Mock drafts are the worst, but draft express has Philadelphia getting Wiggins at #3 AND Randle at #10. If that happens, a core of MCW, Wiggins, Randle & Noel is FANTASTIC for the future. That would allow them to trade Young away from (presumably) more help at the 2/3.

ford has more info today. he says boston has best love offer via draftsets

The Boston Celtics continue to pursue a trade for Kevin Love, offering the No. 6 and No. 17 picks in this year's draft, along with future No. 1's and young players such as Jared Sullinger or Kelly Olynyk.

t-wolves would have 6, 13, and 17 if this happened. Could get some very very nice core young players with those 3 picks.

also he says philly is desperate for wiggins and is offering thad and #3 to move up to get him

I would do that if I'm Minnesota, especially if you can get future 1sts. I'd take either Sully or Olynyk, they're solid young guys. Can't beat that. I feel like either of those guys could be like a Vucevic type impact player in a trade for a star ala the Dwight Howard trade.

Minny would have all the pieces to rebuild quickly. It's not like they were making the playoffs regularly anyway.

I also keep reading that Philly is obsessed with Wiggins

Andrew Wiggins arrived in Philadelphia on Monday to meet with the Philadelphia 76ers and was scheduled to workout with the team on Tuesday.

According to sources, the 76ers are trying to do whatever they can to draft Wiggins.

The 76ers own the third overall pick and are willing to move up by offering that pick and Thaddeus Young for the right to draft Wiggins.

Wiggins is widely considered one of the three best prospects in the draft, though some have Joel Embiid and Jabari Parker rated ahead of him.

Wiggins' camp also appear to prefer the 76ers as his destination.

Randle at a Lakers workout had a 38.5 inch vertical, one inch higher than Vonleh's.

                  @MarkG_Medina
Lakers source I talked to gushed about Julius Randle's "diversity." Believes he was more polished than Vanleh and Gordon

I doubt he falls past them honestly. I think drafting Gordon ahead of him would be a huge mistake too.

                    chad ford embiid news

The Cleveland Cavaliers were "blown away" by Joel Embiid's workout last week, according to sources.
Two separate sources indicated after the workout that Embiid is now the strong favorite to be drafted by the Cavaliers.
There have been reports, however, about the possibility that Embiid's physical showed multiple red flags.

76'ers have a huge crush on Wiggins, Cavs Embiid and Jazz Parker. Now if the Bucks can just deal their pick to the Jazz, everyone would be happy.

I don't think Randal gets past the Lakers.

All I know if that for any team to be "blown away" by Embiid in a draft that has someone like Wiggins in it, that's makes me believe he can be special if he stays healthy.

All these reports of teams being "blown away" from workouts that involve nobody playing each other are stupid.

Only way Milwaukee would even consider swapping their pick with Utah's is if Exum fell to 5 and they could also pick up another lottery pick from a 3rd team or potentially Derrick Favors (which I doubt Utah would do).

But I don't really understand why Milwaukee isn't allowed to have a crush on a prospect of their own lol.

Maybe they're more tight lipped. Since you're a fan, maybe you can enlighten us on who the Bucks should draft?
