very interesting, and I think you're right about that. If the unions agree to it, then it'd be legit. I hope this goes through, because way too many kids come out early and kill any chance at a career

I'm all for it. I say if you want to play pro ball before you turn 21, go to Europe.

which isn't a bad alternative, you'd still make $350k tax-free and those Euro teams will pay for your lodging and meals. I would play in Europe in a heartbeat!

very true...I'd also play in Europe in a heartbeat, but I don't think all these HS kids would go to Europe rather than go play College ball for 3 years. Some will, but I can't see it becoming a common/popular decision.

I just meant if college wasn't "for them". The Euro squads play about 30-35 games in their domestic league and then the better teams also play midweek games in the "EuroLeague" which consist of the best club teams from the different nations. A player who doesn't qualify would stand a better chance going over there for 2 years, then coming back and working out with a trainer and get ready for the draft camps.

yeah, I know what you meant. I just wanted to point out that I couldn't see many Joe Highschoolers skipping out to Europe to play, rather than go to Duke, UNC, UConn, etc to play for a NC. I think going to the college game might be a better showcase for young talent, scouts see the European guys, but I'm sure they learn more about the college players.
