So you're saying that the key matchups are:

Billups v Kidd
Hamilton v Kittles
Prince v Jefferson
Wallaces v Martin
Wallaces v Collins & Williams

Never thought about that....

Re: Pistons vs. Nets: Second Round Thread

since i did matchups for the Nets-Knicks series, I think i'll do them for this one too, Just my opinion of course
Kidd vs. Billups-Edge Kidd
Pretty self-explanatory but other than shooting, Kidd is better than Billups in basically every other way. Strong rebounder for a PG, great defender, best passer in the league, pretty clutch especially with the free throws in late game. Billups however can get torrid at times with his outside shooting.
Kittles vs. Hamilton-Edge Hamilton
Hamiltons much better offensively with his consistent mid-range and his ability to get to the hoop. However, he lacks three-point range which Kittles has sometimes. Kittles is an underrated defender that is very long, creating fast break opportunities with his steals or pokeaways.
Jefferson vs. Prince- Edge Jefferson
Jefferson has developed his game so much since last year, it isn't even funny. He's very good at getting to the hole and finishing strong or getting fouled. Also, perfect for the fast break offense the Nets run. Tayshaun performed well last year but this year hasnt played well enough to warrant the Pistons passing on Carmelo.
Martin vs. R. Wallace- Edge Martin
I like Rasheed's ability to step it outside or go to work inside but Martin can defend both. He often has to guard the best player on the opposite team even 3's. Martin has also improved a ton and performs very well in the playoffs. Close, but Martin wins.
B. Wallace vs. Collins- Edge B. Wallace
By far the most lopsided matchup of the whole game. Fortunately, Ben doesn't score much and Collins wont be shooting as much so not as big a factor as other matchups.
Nets Bench vs. Pistons bench- Push
Don't know alot about the Pistons bench but I can tell you that Rodney Rogers creates matchup problems because he can both do work down low and hit a three. Harris is a solid vet that can score in bunches. Of course the nets dont have a true backup Pg so that'll probably hurt them a bit. A-Train is servicable for a backup center but nothing special. Pistons bench doesn't sound speactacular either; Okur is ok and so is corliss
Of course matchups don't mean the whole series but I'd say Nets in 7

I agree with Smurf for the most part. Pistons do also have James and Lindsey Hunter coming off the bench. But Id say Nets in 7.
