    Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread

rose wont be his 2011 form because hes going to be falling in love with the 3. all hes been doing for 2 years is working on the jumpshot (atleast, thats what logic says)

dont be surprised if hes near the top in 3pt attempts per game.

i remember, i think when he got this last injury some story came out about how bulls fan dislike rose and hes not humble he just cant talk properly and what not..id hate being a bulls fan because if all this is true, as long as hes on the team odds are you arent getting another star

I personally don't believe Rose will ever be quite the player he was in 2011, but I don't think he will have to if they have pieces around him, and he should still have quite a few great years ahead of him.

Pretty much this here. The first injury is what I was worried about and what we saw to start this year was a good sign. The explosion was there, he was moving quickly, he wasn't favoring that knee or anything like that. Really all that was missing was his timing and rhythm which is to be expected given he'd missed a year.

I think he'll get back to his MVP form after this latest injury because it wasn't as serious a knee injury as the previous one, they've taken every precaution with his future career in mind in what they've done for it and we've already seen players bounce back from this injury. Obviously not everyone recovers the same way, but Russell Westbrook is doing just fine coming off the same injury. That's an encouraging sign. I think a lot of Bulls fans just allow their frustrations to get out of hand. The only reason it's even an issue is because of how well the team has done since he's been out. If they were complete trash and winning 15 games a year for the last two years this wouldn't even be a problem.

Yeah, I don't get it either. Lou for Salmons makes sense. Toronto gets a decent bench combo guard and Atlanta saves money. But why give up on Nogueira so fast?

They saved 4 million (assuming they waive Salmons).

No ones expecting him to grovel at the dudes feet...but when your the face of an organization and a big name free agent is looking to sign, a lot of people (and with good reason) feel you should be a part of the process...and most superstars are...

again, not his job, but you have Kobe, Dirk, Bron out there selling their respective franchises....those guys have 8 rings between them...they don't have to "kiss ***"

When has Lebron ever "sold" his franchise to another superstar? He called up some of his friends and asked if they want to play together (probably same thing hes doing now). He didnt have to sell anything. DRose aint part that clique. If they were actually boys youd probably see him be more active.

We just got done praising a spurs championship with a team first, no player is bigger than the team philosophy - and now people want to be mad because drose isnt out stroking egos - which creates the "player is bigger than the team" psyche in the first place.

LeBron was the main reason Ray Allen ended up in MIA...and him being active in the meetings they hold this summer will probably be the reason they get another big piece.

Not sure why you keep trying to make this about LeBron though...as I said Dirk, Kobe, other superstars do this as well. They aren't a part of any "clique" either....nor do they have to stroke any egos, they're champions and the faces of their franchises. They just want to win. Hell Tony Parker was the main reason Boris Diaw came to San Antonio...

I don't think Rose should be criticized for not doing it per se, but I understand people's feelings on it...

At the same time, what is it exactly that he needs to do to get somebody to sign there? That's the question I have for those that do have an issue with it.

It's not like lottery picks are sure things either though. The draft is usually all over the place in terms of what picks actually pan out.

I'd rather have a 1st round pick than not have one.

24th come on man. nobody cares about if anybody is recruiting Boris Diaw. LOL Im talking about legit stars here not old vets or guys off the bench. Im pretty sure the guys complaining about Rose's lack of recruitment effort are losing sleep because he wont recruit Ray Allen or Boris Diaw.

Besides Parker & Diaw they already know each other. Again, there is a difference between calling somebody u got on speed dial and recruiting somebody you barely know.

And regarding the other "superstars" you mentioned...dirk isnt a superstar, and its only a matter of time before Kobe breaks down. Neither one of them are near as valuable as the stars they are trying to recruit. Maybe Rose isn't either but he still has plenty of years left and doesnt need to resort to desperation tactics....yet.

LeBron sure did a good job selling Cleveland huh? Lol Come on 24th, you're better than that lmao iLL said the rest that I would have to say on that topic.

It isn't the players job to recruit regardless. If they want to do it, then fine. But Rose said he's a great player and respects his game and left it that. Not sure what else people are looking for. It should be the front offices job to do those types of things.

It doesn't matter anyway because Melo ain't coming.

Not sure what level of stardom has to do with it. If anything, it speaks higher of Parker and Lebron that they were willing to put in an effort to convince role players to come play with them. And now Kobe and Dirk don't count as superstars?

I don't think its the biggest deal in the world and Melo is probably going to make the same decision whether Rose recruits him or not, but it's not some desperation tactic. It's very common not just in the NBA but in all sports.
