      Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread

I don't want to see him back in Cleveland, mainly because I want that core to grow as their own team.

As someone stated, adding him to that roster might stunt some of those guys growth. I want to see Wiggins become a star in his own right, not riding on the coattails of LeBron for 4-5 seasons.

I would have loved for Spo to use Beasley but at the same time he's been irrelevant for a reason. Outside of Beas I don't know who else they really had
You can say he's irrelevant but he appeared in 55 games and played pretty well when he did. They had plenty of bodies to throw out there. Lewis could have played more, Beasley, Jones etc. This is the same team that said they don't care what seed in the playoffs they get right? If Wade could sit out half the damn season, he could have figured out how to get LeBron some more rest with the guys they had.

LeBron has the equivalent of like 15 NBA seasons on his body. Had to know that those minutes would catch up eventually.

He can always have that beach-front mansion. It's not like it'll go away.

The Cavs look like a better option, long-term wise.

You do have a point about Kobe, "hear take my shine", but who knows what would've happened had he been drafted to LA. It's all speculation, so we could say this would've happened or that would've happened, but I don't think because he's on the same team with Kobe that his development would've been shunned and he would've ended being the next Wesley Johnson.
Oh no. Wiggins on any team doesn't scream Wes Johnson to me lol. But I think he would be given more opportunity to flourish with LeBron in his rookie year.

It's different for me though; I've been a Bulls fan since birth and will continue to be one 'til I die, whether Melo comes here or not.

Unfortunately can't say the same for South Beach fair-weather fans/media.

There's a reason why there's all those Miami fans memes, and the vitriol they receive.

I wonder if LeBron does leave Miami would recruit Melo? Probably too late for that though.

Yeah, because it's not like Chicago didn't have a heap of people jumping on their bandwagon when the Bulls finally started winning.

Seriously, spare us that "since birth" bs.

It's probably old news to you all and it probably belongs in the Lebron thread but they're talking about other stuff but I find it interesting that Gilbert's scathing letter after Lebron left is now off the Cavs site.

I guess business takes precedence over conviction.

Anywho, I personally think Riley is one of the better basketball guys around but if the core of that Heat team goes in this offseason he's going to look real bad and I daresay the Heat are going to struggle quite a bit this upcoming season. Yeah, the East isn't the greatest conference but there are a lot of teams that are bunched up together. Anybody can beat anybody in that conference IMO especially if Lebron is gone from Miami.
