I thought Pack's comment was full of exaggerations and seriously overstated... but after seeing your reply, I see that it's really understated and already not given the credit it deserves.Comment

That's essentially where I was going with it. If he has to create on his own, he won't be very good IMO.Originally posted by J. ColeFool me one time that's shame on you. Fool me twice can't put the blame on you. Fool me three times, **** the peace sign, load the chopper let it rain on you.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
my belief is that hes regarded as all-star caliber talent around the front offices, atleast the talk he gets from the media/sideline crews during games would lead to this belief.
Hes arguably top 5 at his position and a top 10 2-way wing... i dont want this to be discussed cuz 23 gon rage but thats what i think the front offices believe.
and all-star caliber = max now with all the money floating around. Is that max coming from GSW? who knows, but i expect him to get it from someone
I completely disagree that just because guys like Hayward and Parsons got big deals that everyone just needs to start getting overpaid..
What is a max for Klay even worth, 16 a year or something? So just below Durant, Rose, Blake, on par with ZBo and Aldridge, more than Paul George, Marc Gasol, Love, Westbrook, Lopez, Wade, Wall, Harden, and a long list of other players?
No way in hell is he worth that, and even if some people do consider him "all star caliber" he's not even in the same ball park as the guys he's going to be getting paid more than. Franchise players..
What does being a "2 way player" even mean in this case. It's not like he's a great scorer and a great defender.. Are we seriously going to over praise him just because he's slightly above average at both? lol.. He doesn't contribute anything else to stat sheets, isn't a big rebounder, isn't a playmaker, doesn't get to the free throw line, production drops during the playoffs... Etc
I just don't get it.. Guys like Martin, Johnson, Ellis, they've been doing what Klay does for years now. They also have the ability to create for themselves, and others, and do more than hit perimeter shots offensively.. Should they all be getting max money too? Well Joe already is but he's proven his worth in the playoffs.
He's a great secondary scorer to Curry, that's honestly it. Hell even Nick Young and Jamal Crawford match his scoring output while coming off the bench.. Nothing Klay is doing is so impressive that we need to automatically label him a top 5 shooting guard and make him 3rd highest paid SG in the league.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Just got home from running some errants.. See that the C's signed Evan Turner. I'm stoked.
Hopefully now we can move Green and get a legitimate center.. I don't want to see Sully at the 5 again. This signing kind of makes the Bradley extension pointless, though.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
There will always be a fattened market for above average players as long as there's an arbitrary cap on what true superstars (Lebron, Durant) can make. I don't know why everyone gets so up in arms about these deals. If the cap is 70 million and the maximum you can pay Curry is 18 (just throwing numbers out there), that extra money has to go somewhere. Now you could try to piece together a bunch of value guys and replace Klay's production or you could just overpay (I use the term loosely because is it really an overpay if more than one team is willing to pay it? That would be market price, right?) Klay. You have the room to work with since you don't have to pay Curry what he's really worth. He's the 2nd best player on a team built to win now. If they don't trade him for Love and refuse to pay him, then what are they doing?
EDIT: I just realized Curry is on a sick value deal at 11mil per. Even more reason to splurge on Klay if you can't put him in a deal for Love.
OT but I just wanted to be say, I'd have helped Klay pack and driven him to the airport for Kevin Love. Not sure how he held up that deal.Last edited by dsallupinyaarea; 07-21-2014, 05:57 PM.NFL - Vikings

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
All I know is that Anthony Davis isn't going to amount to much. Good defensive guy but too skinny for the NBA and no real skills beyond shot blocking. Oh wait, wrong draft year. My bad.#WeAreUKComment
