Screamin' A spits his own BS as well at times and I tend to take most of what he says with a grain of salt. He's more "reliable" than Broussard but that also isn't really saying much, that's why I ask what makes so reliable more than others? Is it because he was one of the few to call Lebron to Miami before anyone else did?

For me, it's his grasp on the game itself. The other jokesters ESPN employs know squat about basketball. Smith has his Screamin A moments but I actually believe most of what he says sans the "LeBron might go to New York" type talk. Not saying he's Woj by any means and I don't watch SAS at all when he's on First Take (show is nothing but a troll fest), but I don't automatically turn the t.v. off when he's on like I do when Broussard or the others appear.

He's also been saying for about two months now that from what he's hearing Carmelo is leaving New York. So we'll see how that turns out. Stephen A actually has REAL relationships with a lot of these guys and he does have his connections. My biggest gripe with him is all the yelling. I don't get how most people take pride in not watching ESPN to actually see what some of these guys are saying but can go in on them and their credibility. When I see him, he generally seems to know what he's talking about and has actual dialog with people. Unlike dudes like Broussard who just jump on guys like SAS and Woj's work like it's their own.

            Fair enough ex.

And King, I'm not questioning his relationships with players. I'm sure it is good with the players and that's goes for a lot of these other writers/insiders/whatever they're called. And I don't watch ESPN unless there's a game on there that I have to watch(use Nets game for example)and even as soon as the game is over, I flip right over to NBATV. But on some of the other sites I post at, people there will post some of the stuff he says and that's how I find out what he's saying otherwise I don't pay attention to a word he says.

But when it comes to breaking news/trades or whatnot, I'll take the Yahoo! Sports guys over anyone at ESPN because they've broken a lot of and hit on a lot of big moves, in addition to the smaller transactions as well.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I'd take him over the Yahoo guys either, but I don't agree with dudes in here making it like he's even close to Broussard level.

Has SAS even broken anything noteworthy besides the MIA thing in 2010? (and I've always found that funny because he said LBJ was leaning heavily toward NYK not too long before that)

                    Just wondering..

The thing is, SAS isn't really that type of reporter to begin with, he isn't the "breaking news" type. He's not Adam Scheffler or Woj. I don't think he pretends to be either, which Broussard and Ford desperately try in vein.

Pretty much. He's the type where he talks to a lot of guys to do his job as an analyst/talking head and if he hears something "newsworthy" he'll report it. Like on the Melo front, the first I heard of him saying Melo was leaving New York was when someone asked him a question about it and what he thought. Whereas Broussard and some of these other clowns are gonna jump on Twitter and flood your timeline with him throwing **** on the wall or ignoring stories Woj or someone else has broken and posting it two minutes later like his "sources" hit him up.

Rod Higgins is out in Charlotte. I almost can't believe this is real.
