im actually of the impression had miami been in the west they arent making the conf finals. MAYBE vs OKC they would win, but i dont think they would beat a well coached TEAM

i know the spurs were absolutely amazing, but the heat didnt even show up for games 2-5

I honestly think San Antonio is the only team that would have beaten Miami in the finals. I think Dallas, Memphis they could push them 6 or 7, but I think ultimately they would win.

OKC, LAC, POR, HOU, GS (especially without Bogut) I don't think those teams posed a threat to Miami.

I think LAC could've posed some problems. I could see them or OKC pushing 6+ games. Dallas would have no chance in my eyes since their team isn't as good as the 2011 squad, it would be over in 4-5. I also think SA was the only team that would have beaten us.

Okc or memphis woulda gone 7. Dallas had no chance, gsw woulda went 5 maybe 6 if bogut came back. I think the clips wouldve went 5, but only cuz there lack of experience showed against okc. Okc i think wouldve gone 7 cuz in there previous series with miami all those games were close, and okc couldve easily been up 3-1 instead of down, and they are more experienced now then back then. Memphis i think matched up well with miami, and were better offensively than indy, while being just as good defensively. Gsw lacks experience but has a matchup advantage.

I love how Miami gets pummeled 3 straight games and suddenly they aren't a "team". They put together a great all around team. Just because they fell flat for 5 games doesn't mean that suddenly their great role players suck, nor does it suddenly mean Bosh and Wade should retire or any of that mess. They still have a great team if they return the same roster from this year.

Yeah I believed all year Spurs were the only team I feared. No body else from the West was a threat to the Heat imo.

We get James Ennis back to the Heat next season. We traded for him at the draft last year when he was taken 50th OVR. We didn't have a roster spot for him so he played in Australia for a season. He was second in the league in scoring with 22 on 48%, shot 40% from 3, and 78% from the line. He was also second in rebounds and averaged 7 per game. He was basically the star of the Aussie league and improved jersey sales by 30% and won the championship.

Basically a super athletic SF with an improving shot. Hope to see him get some bench minutes.

Aaaaaaaand proof of why there still needs to be an LBJ thread.

Speaking of that thread, it's already been bumped. Let's keep all the Lebron talk in there please.

Ennis was drafted as a D and 3 guy.. It's nice to see he can put the ball on the floor and make some plays for himself. Playing a year overseas developing those skills as a primary role might have been the best thing for him.

The Miami is done talk is a bit overblown but it does have some merit. Mainly because Miami took a couple of seasons to get a competent bench around the big 3 and now they are ancient and are retiring(Battier most likely Allen as well). The next thing is D-Wade's knees floating up to the pearly gates. Him being a year older only compounds the problem and with LeBron having to everything for this team this year and them playing so much the last few seasons, it isn't a recipe for success. They got by on their lack of depth by their sheer overpowering talent. With Wade declining, Bosh sometimes being invisible, and LeBron turning 30 in December while carrying the whole load, they need more than that. All them opting out and building a better supporting cast is probably the best way to alleviate that, but who's willing to sacrifice their money AGAIN? Wade sure doesn't sound like he wants to, and with his knees wth would I wanna tie myself down with him until he's in his late 30's?

                        Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread

Best case scenario would be this:

                        - LeBron, D-Wade, CB, UD, and Birdman all opt-out and re-sign at a discounted amount
                        - Melo also agrees to a pay-cut and joins the Heat
                        - Allen comes back for one more year and also re-signs at a discounted rate. If Allen decides to retire, then we could use Plan B and bring back Mike Miller.
                        - Heat re-sign Rio, Douglas, and Lewis
                        - Depending on the MLE and how much we have, we use it to sign Varejao (no idea how much his worth on the market. Alternatively we can sign Okafor instead- if healthy he would definitely be a huge upgrade over our failed projects in Oden and Eddy Curry) and either of the following defensive wings; Marion, P.J Tucker or Sefolosha.

By the way I read somewhere that Miami may have some interest in Patty Mills. He would definitely be a great fit but I doubt he or the Spurs would want to part ways.

You want Haslem to take another pay cut when he's already making nothing

Honestly I don't think y'all should want Allen back... Father Time looks like it's starting it's game against him.

I do think he can come back from a meniscus tear just like RWB and others did.

I don't however know if he'll be ready condition wise since its just all out basketball once they get going, and that leaves no time to ease your way in.

The best thing he has working for him is that he's young.
