In all seriousness though, I wouldn't mind seeing Anthony on either the Rockets or Bulls.

Harden and Anthony are two of the heaviest ISO guys in the league, it'd be interesting to see how that plays out. Dwight would never get the ball
Which will be weird because didn't he have an issue with playing run and gun as well?

If Carmelo goes to Houston, maybe there'll be some sort of double sign and trade type thing?

Just random proposal I thought of:

      Rockets trade:
      Parsons(sign and trade)
      25th overall pick in draft
      42nd overall pick in draft

      Knicks trade:
      Carmelo(sign and trade)

I would love to see Melo go to Houston just to watch that Melo/Harden/Duhwight trainwreck.

Probably the three most mentally soft "stars" in the entire league on one team.

I personally don't think Lowry is leaving Toronto. He wants to get paid and the the team seems willing to keep him after what he has done to the franchise this season. Same goes for Ariza and Gortat. They're all in a good situation right now and they don't strike me as the type to sacrifice money over a title, especially since this will probably be the last time they'll be able to cash in big.

As for the Heat, if the Melo sweepstakes doesn't happen then we definitely need to find a player that will be able to reduce the workload for LeBron during the season, preferably a defensive-minded guy to replace Battier. I still believe the Big 3 will all opt out and take a pay cut to provide cap flexibility. Possible signings to reduce the workload for LeBron could include Deng, P.J Tucker, Sefolosha, Marion, and Wesley Johnson. As for our other deficiencies, we could try acquire Varejao (most likely the Cavs will decline his $9.8 mil team option) or Gasol and possibly bring back Mike Miller if Allen retires? They could also go after Meeks but I think he'll be too much to afford after his breakout season.

I don't think he's leaving the Knicks(pulling a troll D-Will). If he does I'll take the Bulls in an heartbeat. I know we all joke about Rose injury history IMHO had Rose thought the Bulls could seriously contend I think he would've played these past 2 seasons. Same with Kobe last year. The road to championship would be easier not to mention a much better coach and better overall team.

My only concern is what would the Bulls lose. Houston would lose Asik,Parsons and maybe Lin.Bulls would obviously amnesty Boozer but would the purse of Melo cost them Taj/Butler also?

now if were talking some low-key signings assuming salary worked i could see a could team of lowry-wade-james-pierce-monroe with a meeks, stucky, kanter bench.

Boozer's expiring, Dunleavy, the rights to Mirotic, the 16th and 19th picks this year.

If Melo is serious about winning and contending for a title, then he should stay away from Houston, or anywhere in the West for that matter.

Okc is the only place melo would fit. A good defensive team, with one of the most unselfish superstars in the league, plus i doubt westbrook would be much of a problem, because he actually looks to make plays more often than he gets credit for. KD is a great off ball scorer, and with theres three legit scorers the defense has to pay attention to too many players. I think that is the only team out west melo could fit with, okc and maybe the clippers might work cuz the clips need a solid wing player. Plus melo could spend time at the 4 and help there small ball effort, when they do play small. Plus doc is a solid coach who would teach melo more discipline on both sides of the ball.

Yea, but where Melo wants to go plays a bigger factor than what they can offer in this situation.

Melo claims to be opting out, this means S&T is out the window because he leaves an extra max year with the Knicks on the table. The benefit of S&T is the extra year at max, which cannot happen if he opts out. So whatever teams can offer means exactly nothing. If he opts out, he's leaving the Knicks.

Him opting out doesn't necessarily mean he's leaving the Knicks and I also think it doesn't mean a S&T is out the window. It actually makes more sense for him to do that if he wants to get the maximum amount of money possible so the Knicks can still offer him the most amount of money, which was one of the new additions in the CBA.

Deron Williams did the same thing with the Nets a few years ago even though he still had another year left but nobody thought he was actually going to go to Dallas.
