I'm glad you guys got a chuckle!

I forgot to include one player in that mix. I'm going have to get Russell out of there and put in my boy, Pistol Pete Maravich.

Honestly, I would like to make the argument that Jordan was fourth best after
    1. Magic 2. Bird 3. Chamberlin
    4. Jordan

But you guys would get a bigger laugh out of that.

yeah chamberlin did all that but he damn sure wouldnt do this against the athlete of today. you notice how in sports that you stats come from physical excertion like track. people over time break the record and the rest of the people are right behind him. now with stat based things with old player nobody can duplicate those stats the game has changed. The athlete are better. i bet there are atleast 10 people in the leauge who dunk from the free throw line now. if not more. chamberlin couldnt keep up with garnet or shaq

            Re: Kobe or MJ?

Uh, yes he did. They won 72 games in his second year back. 72! He obviously made a huge difference. And he definitely helped the Washington Wizards. If his knee hadn't swollen up at the time it did, his first year with the Wizards would have gotten them in the playoffs.

The Bulls were campaigning for his return in the second year. And they weren't doing so well that second year, either. Pippen was great that first year Jordan retired. But leading a team for one year doesn't mean that much. He was an interim leader, so to speak, and for that one year, he did very well. But the second year, the Bulls were a .500 ballclub and no better before he returned.

I find it hilarious that two obvious Kobe homers are looking to undermine Jordan's legacy in order to push Kobe to greatness. It doesn't work that way, he's got to earn it.

And despite all this, Jordan, until his time with the Wizards, has ALWAYS made the playoffs, even with a young Bulls team that wasn't very good to begin with.

He was a winner BEFORE Phil Jackson came around, pretty clutch even during the Doug Collins era. Phil Jackson didn't exactly mold him into the great player he was. He simply was that great to begin with, it was only Phil Jackson who got him to buy into a different philosophy that allowed him and his team to truly dominate the league.
