Brankles, Would you put Kobe in the top 50 players of all time?

If Kobe were to never play another game. I would put kobe in the top 15 players of all time.

If he plays another ten years, I'm willing to bet that he will be the MJ/Barry Bonds player of his generation.

Did you drop your brain and left it on the floor when you made this post!?

    Please tell me you're joking.

I pray to God that you are joking.

I'd LOVE to see his top 15 list
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

Not joking! You cats are gonna love this!

I would take Drexler, Pippen, Worthy, Mchale, Barkley off the top 50 and easily stick Kobe on top 50 all time.

Watch me stick Kobe in the top 10 of all time (1. MJ, 2. Magic, 3. Bird, 4. Chamberlin,5. Abdul Jabbar, 6. Oscar Robertson,7. Jerry West, 8. Bill Russell, 9. Kobe Bryant, 10. Shaq)

Barry Bonds in the 90's wasn't even the MJ of his generation. But cumulative, we've come to view him in that way in 2004.

In 2015, (if kobe continues to play) he will have a cadre of awards/titles/ to catupult.

I view Kobe/MJ the same way I see Tiger Woods/Jack Nicklaus. It's inevitable. Whereas guys like T-mac and Pierce look more like Alex English and Dominique Wilkins (good but not truly great).

                        Re: Kobe or MJ?

2012 great post. My ucle is older and he said cat felt the same way about jordan when he was young because he just couldnt be good as dr j. He feels it the same with kobe. But he says you know he great because of the people argue over if he is that good or not. if he wasnt one of the best players right now he wouldnt be mentioned in the same breath.

People give jordan to much credit and no one else basketball is a team sport. If you have lesser talent but they are compatable with your stars game you win. If a young jordan was placed on a team with a 29year old shaq. and the team was built around shaq guest what jordan would freeze the players out. you see what he did in washington.

Jordan was great but man people take away from pippen who was defencively his equal. And was played the point. It is a damn shame people wont give pippen his credit or kobe who tex winter and jackson have stated does the most in the triangle ever. they basicly combined jordan and pippen position and made kobe play it.

Comparison are fair only because of height ,physical ability, arogance and will. They are pretty equal in that they both wanted to be the best.

now what is unfair is they dont play the same position. I know you may want to argue that they are both sg. but they are not. sg is what they are in the line up but kobe is sg/pg in the offence. And jordan played sf after his one year at the point. pippen played point and jordan was sf. harper or who ever else played sg. the triangle made easy buckets for the sf. Tex winter said they wanted to get an upgrade at sg for kobe could play sf and only then will we see his full potential.

And kobe would win game on the bulls that jordan played for. with out jordan that same team duplicated wins and went to the playoff they did win it all. But with out the best player in the game the had the same exact record not close but the same and they didnt even have anybody half as good as him to replace him. Insert kobe on that team and you may have a title contender because you not only get jordan like scoring you get jordan like d and wins.

And it is still some older cats who feel jordan still doesnt hold a candle to dr j. Jordan is jordan kobe is kobe but kobe is as good as jordan. That is evident it will never be another dr.j and there will never be another jordan or kobe he is one of the great ones and he is how old.

jordan was great but his role players were greater at what they did. They could be depended on to make the open shots and not miss layup and to play d. kobe didnt have that luxury when shaq was out before anyone even tries to go there. kerr 50% 3pt shooter. rodman one of the best pf ever. pippen one of the best sf ever. The bulls had great bench players better than the laker ever had since kobe was there. Look at any match up preview this years and the lakers bench never was considered the best and with out kobe and shaq in the line up minus gary payton and karl malone like last year. deveon george maybe the only player on the team that would start for any team in the league maybe fish maybe. the lackers dont have a good surrounding cast and with out the old fellah you see they are not that good they are only as good as kobe and shaq unlike the bulls who won with out jordan for the whole year

Hmm and they went how far the first year without Jordan? Yeah ok they did not make the finals so dont even try and bring that up. Your reaching plain and simple. No one on the game today can yet be compared to Jordan, Bird, Magic, Kareem, Cousey, West, etc. This is absurd at this time. Same goes for Shaq being called a great player. Todays game is why I dont even watch the NBA anymore. A bunch of thugs out there mauling everyone. It has become a ME first game and the slippage of fan support shows it.
