You can't just not look at it, especially if it's spoilered. Thanks Dre. Looks rough.

Re: World Cup of Basketball in Spain
I don't have words to express how much I hate this for PG. I'm just happy he has access to the best medical care. Basketball just isn't important when you see a person experience that. With that being said, I can't wait for the day I get to give him a standing ovation. He was so proud to be playing for his country. He really is one of the good guys in the league. I will definitely keep him in my prayers!Comment

Re: World Cup of Basketball in Spain
Im no doctor...But My degree is in exercise science.
Like Dre posted, he should be good to go. Dont think his career is over at all.
Watching the replay, it doesnt look like a knee or ankle. Just a complete fracture of his tibula and fibula.
Id be willing to bet he plays next year. And I wouldnt be surprised to see him suit up before this season is up. Seriously. 3 to 6 months is typical recovery time for this kind of injury.
This is not like a Shaun Livingston situation. It just looks worse than what it is.
He'll be good to go after surgery and he wont have to worry about a break there again after it recovers.
Pacers still have their franchise player.
It's not as serious as dislocated knee cap with lots of ligament damage, but it's still a very significant injury.Comment

Re: World Cup of Basketball in Spain
jr, medicines come a LONG way since 2006. Sure gronk had an infection in his broken arm but i doubt PG will be messing around like gronk and limit his chance of setbackComment

Re: World Cup of Basketball in Spain
I just hope people understand he'll be back... But won't be the same that quickly. PG was playing a very high level. Not saying that he can't make it back. But it's going to take time. I broke a very similar bone in my leg (a little lower). What players like PG have to be careful is not to put too much stress on the other leg (Kobe, Amare, Rose, Oden for example). It's hard not to do especially a player at that level.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: World Cup of Basketball in Spain
ACL's, Achilles & microfracture's like those players endured are a a different beast though...
I really believe he'll come back after this year and be himself fairly quickly..
There's a good article out there about Jason Kidd and his recovery.....how fanatical he was about rebuilding muscle, evening out his legs afterward..Comment

Re: World Cup of Basketball in Spain
ill be very surprised if hes not playing by start of 2015 season, and at that point id start questioning his future.
---lol tho ESPN radio just started locally out here...been calling in destroying ESPN's coverage of this injury and some guy said prior to joining ESPN B windhorst was only known at buffet tables around the country..Comment

Re: World Cup of Basketball in Spain
I like Mark Cuban, but am I the only one that thinks he's a bit full of crap with his blasting the IOC? I mean, yeah, they are corrupt, but to talk about them with the making money line and then in the same sentence talk about the players and owners creating their own World Cup? Seriously Mark? So it would be about the money for you? Cause a player could get hurt in that World Cup too. Not to mention that it wouldn't make any sense considering they'd basically be doing the same thing by taking another league's players for a national team cause they won't be able to make enough teams with JUST NBA players, no?
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is making the media rounds and hoping to change how the NBA allows its players to participate in international competition.
"The [International Olympic Committee] is playing the NBA," Cuban said. "The IOC is an organization that has been rife with corruption, to the point where a member was accused of trying to fix an Olympic event in Salt Lake. The IOC [pulls in] billions of dollars. They make a killing and make Tony Soprano look like a saint.
"The greatest trick ever played was the IOC convincing the world that the Olympics were about patriotism and national pride instead of money. The players and owners should get together and create our own World Cup of Basketball."Comment
