I just think, with Dunleavy still in the mix, the Bulls roster would be better served finding a starting 2 with Butler starting at the 3, and rotating Dunleavy and Mirotic in at the 3 (and 4 for Mirotic) while Butler rotates to the 2 at times.

It wasn't an either/or for me. If Dunleavy is going, bringing in Barnes is a great idea. I still think they need another SG but it'd be fine. But having Butler, Barnes, Dunleavy, Mirotic and McDermott all as really natural SFs without a real SG on the team worth mentioning doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
Got ya. Then yeah, I agree 1000%.

How we proceed is also dependent on what the FO thinks of McDermott. Some are higher on him than others. I said before, during, after the draft and now that he would be pretty much useless and still to me it's one of the dumber trades that we've made in recent memory. I don't see him ever being a real contributor on this team, and I certainly don't hope the Bulls put any eggs in that basket, just because he is under contract.

Unfortunately, to get anyone of real value that will improve this team right away, it's going to have to come from a sign and trade deal which limits our options significantly. More than likely going to be trotting out the same roster next year.

Not sure how we got on the discussion of Dunleavy still being here with Barnes. I was saying that we can let Dunleavy go since re-signing him is going to put us over the luxury tax and take away some of the exceptions we can use to improve the team. Barnes coming in was always in conjunction with Dunleavy going. If that meant just letting him walk or including him in a sign and trade deal that landed Barnes. All of this is moot anyway though because I can't see GS trading him.

Sources tell FanSided that Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau is willing to stay with the team under the right circumstances.

Of course he's willing to $tay. They're gonna have to buy him out if they don't want him.

Knicks would be dumb to not take Mudiay at 4 if Jah, Kat and D_Russ are gone

This kid was rank the top kid coming out of college and because he went to China he's being looked at as an unknown.

Larry Brown has coached a lot of games and players and for him to recognize Mudiay as 1 of the best he's seen at his age is saying something

Kid is a balla. His change of pace skills are sick. I mean we tried to acquire Reggie Jackson last year.

Stay the course Phil and if Mudiay is there draft him with out thinking twice

Just a random thought but would Lakers consider trading the #2 pick for Melo?

Horrible trade at this point in his career for Lakers. Like I said, Lakers should just focus on rebuilding for now. Just get the young players on the team to build depth, cause they know if a starting player comes around in free agency, they have higher odds than most teams already, not just cause of their history, but cause of all the cap space they'd have.

Randle and the #2 pick on their team could be a nice front court for them. 2016 could be one of biggest offseasons in NBA history cause of all potential names who could be available AND the cap going up around that time. If I were Lakers,I'd set up team in good position to go after some of those names. So have young guys on roster and then sign whoever they need.

If they do that, consider me gone and this franchise done.

If the FO don't mess this up, the lakers could be back by the 2016 - 2017 season. (unless all the free agents go play in Minny with Rubio)

It's funny you say that because from a realistic standpoint the only out of this world talent the Lakers have wooed in free agency was Shaq. Almost 20 years ago. So let's see what your team can build first.

Same goes with the Knicks. We've been nothing but a bargaining chip for top FAs. So depressing.

True. Out of this world talent is very rare to begin with anyway.

But the lakers will have young talents and cap space. Now it's a matter of how theses guys develop and play together.

I so can't wait for next season, wow. Not that it will be great record wise in my opinion but it's gonna be very interesting to watch.

Money talked in both situations, that's it. We re-signed Melo last summer because we could offer him more money than the rest of the league. Five years ago we got Amare because we offered him more money than anyone else. Hard to argue that Amare was even a top FA based on how things turned out though I've always backed Donnie's decision to sign him.

No big names have taken less money to come to the Knicks and no one has chosen the Knicks when they had an equal offer from another team.
