Id rather have Jordan right now and over the next few seasons than Howard. Ill be surprised if Howard ever goes another season without missing a significant chunk of games. Then there is also the drama that you mentioned..
Last year he played very well in the playoffs vs portland. This year his team took out Jordans team.

I under stand his value to the mavs minus the trash Cuban keeps spewing to the public but at least let make an all star squad first before calling him shaq.

But the guys likes being called a great wonder instead of being held responsible

After missing out on all of their free-agent targets, Lakers are talking trade with Pacers which would land them the former All-Star center

I agree that Howard's value is a max level player also. That position has probably the biggest premium there is. It's hard to find freak centers like those two, especially in today's climate.

I agree about Cuban's comments, but to be fair he was drunk at the time lol

He's not Jordan Hill or Robert Sacre, so it's an upgrade.

He can rebound and defend at a high level when healthy, focused and motivated. Being on a playoff caliber team with (some) good teammates and leadership should help some. Or it could all blow up in Doc River's face having both Javale and Lance on the same team. They need to move Crawford for some depth upfront or another wing player too, IMO.

Can't say that about last season with Golden State or '11 with the Dallas Mavericks. The league is always going to be top heavy and have "dynasties" but you are seeing more talent spread now.

Yeah i agree they should and i think they'll look to move Jamal

I'm not a fan of lance but lets hope Pierce can bring what that team might lack in leadership.

Dj gone might work out for them in the long run. Not sure about this year. Theyre also eyeing a new rook kinda how they did Whiteside.

Ya the league seems to have more parity right now than it ever has.

That is not to say that it has parity comparable to NFL or MLB. That will never happen because of the nature of the sport.

That Upshaw kid has a lot of similar attributes of DJ, but he's pretty old (21) for a rookie and has had attitude/character issues.

I don't think it would be wise to gamble on three players with real character concerns. We'll see what they do....

lol ya. It's a great signing for Raptors. I think this is the first time in franchise history they have an actual good starting C and a real backup C as well. Come along way from the days of Pape Sow,Loren Woods,Aaron Williams lol.

Biyombo...defensive rating the past 2 years...99 each season! When he was a starter, he was top 10 in the NBA in blocks. He won't be starting on Raptors, but being able to play 20 minutes behind JV, is exactly what they need since JV sometimes gets in early foul trouble and Casey doesn't like playing him in the 4th for some reason.

All these huge free agent signings, and to see Raptors go out and sign Biyombo, a 22 year old backup C who can play close to 20 mins a game, and past 2 seasons had offensive rating of 115 and defensive rating of 99(would've been top 10 if he qualified)...all for just 3M per year? What a good signing!

I'm still undecided bout the PF position,I'd like to see them go after someone either to start(so Patterson is on bench),or backup Patterson. Let Johnson be backup SF so we can have 5 players on the bench who'll play a game. Utilize a 10 man lineup for once instead of Caseys usual 8-9 man lineup. Aside from the PF position,I'm happy with this roster heading into next season. Now it's just on the players to be consistent and play full court game for 48 minutes.

Maybe not dominant, but we knew GS would be really good.

And we saw that Atl never really had a shot, despite playing well in the reg season.
