It is crazy. Fell apart so fast.

Still have 4 seasons with PG though(or 3 because I think the last one is a player option). Hopefully we can get back in contention to get him to stay. Still potential with this group I think. Hill, Monta, George is pretty solid. Good bench players. Just need to figure out the front court situation. Mahinmi and Scola? lol

I don't really like trading Hibbert just to trade him though. A 2nd rounder and some cash? What's the point... Free up cap space to sign no one since everyone is already off the board.

Why are people putting the Pacers out of the playoffs already? Who's significantly better than they were last year in the east? Outside of Miami? Indy could have legit made the playoffs this past year if it weren't for PG being out. Hibbert has been near trash for some time now. Finding someone to grab rebounds and do nothing as far as scoring or passing on offense shouldn't be terribly difficult.

What is he doing for $5 mil? With the option to stick around and take up another 5 mil the year after if he's terrible? "Why not" is the kind of thing I'd say if it was a vet minimum deal or something, given that he's getting actual money and going against the cap, I have to ask "WHY?". Lol I just don't get it. Biyombo signed for what, 3 a year? I would've rather used the money on him if we could've, I just don't get it at all.

Don't see the Knicks seriously competing for the playoffs, even in the East, but Phil's done a nice job. Hopefully we'll see significant improvement, the young guys show promise, and next year we'll have a situation that's attractive to the more talented free agents.

Well considering the cap is set to jump by maybe 20 million or so next year I'm sure this 10 million contract for a young player who has tons to prove. Bruh you acting like this contract for a guy who can actually provide something to the team is the end all be all. Did you see the roster y'all had last year? Come on.

Why question $5M when the cap next year is projected to increase by $2M?

I'm not a fan of the signing but Corey Brewer was looking for $8M/yr and we have holes to fill.

Melo's coming off knee surgery. Who says he can start the season or will even be healthy?

The pickings are slim in this free agent class.

But last year we traded Raymond Felton and JR Smith, both of whom had player options.

Pacers pretty much lost their core outside of PG. The pacers defense took years of team work and meshing chemistry before they perfected it. Now they have to do it all over again.

And the roy hibbert that helped get the pacers the best record in the east was a beast until around march/April when he made his transformation into Boy Hibbert.

And PG still has still not showed he could consistently be a go to player in the same way a Lebron Melo Curry Durant Cp3 could.

OK better question, who was bidding against us that we had to pay this man 5 million dollars? I just don't understand, I'm literally scouring the internet for a positive word on this guy and there's nothing, not from Knick fans, not from Kings fans, not from Wolves fans. I guess I'm just wondering if we offered him the minimum, who was the team that was going to swoop in and steal him from us?

Wait so are you trying to argue that the Pacers won't make the playoffs next year?

There's a difference in being a playoff contender and title contender......

Is $5 Mil really that much when the cap is rising significantly in a year?

Can't judge these contracts players are getting now because you won't see it's true value until next year. If the cap weren't rising, than I could see where you're coming from in regards to the $5 Mil.

Yep that is one reason I wasn't pissed with the Amir Johnson to the Celtics contract when it was first reported. I was like who cares...the cap is supposedly increasing tremendously next offseason it will really be a 7 or 8 million contract. Another being I expected the team to spend ridiculous money on players because they need to get to get to the cap floor.

Even with the greater TV money, teams will probably be raising ticket prices.

I think that depends on the team. The Cavs, Spurs, Warriors, etc. yea I agree with you. But the 6ers, Lakers (minus Kobe), Jazz, probably not.
