Me thinks that JJ deal leaked from the Nets' side.

I think he's gone eventually but I don't think it's to Cleveland.

I can see it happening but Andy being dealt is where I have reservations. Not sure Bron would be on board with that but if it can "net" you JJ and David West, you have to do it.

where do u see the minutes coming, barring no trades with their current bigs?

You really think they're going to sign David West and then glue him to the bench for offensively challenged Anderson Varejao and Tristan Thompson? Is he gonna get the 28 he averaged in Indiana? Of course not, but he could get 20-22 minutes on this team. Hell, Marion averaged 19 for the year. If you think David West is gonna get the 4 minutes per that Marion was getting in the playoffs, then I don't know what to tell you.

The only reason it's out there is because of Haywood's contract, which I'm surprised I haven't seen more deals involving the Cavs.

If they didn't have that, there wouldn't be any talks right now regarding this. We're in cost cutting mode(which is amazing considering we were doing the samething that Gilbert so adamantly against)and the last thing we need to be doing is taking on another bad contract like Varajeo.

And where are these "David West is taking the Vet Min" talks coming from?

I would assume because he's said he wants to play for a legit contender that can win a title. Thing is, I don't think guys realize just how much the Vet's Min is. That's like 1.4 mil for him, I don't think he's ready to take THAT drastic of a pay cut, but we'll see.

The Mavs have reached out to Jason Terry. Seeing JET back in Dallas would be cool. He can still play a bit.

Okay but you can say this about any team that has the contracts to work it. It's out there because Cleveland can make it happen and (apparently) is willing to pay a huge luxury tax bill. My understanding is dumping JJ saves you big time $$ this year on the luxury tax bill because Andy's is for $10 mil and Haywood's $10 mil gets shredded, so you instantly save $10 mil in cap space with that, which ends up as a huge savings. Rumor has it too that Andy's contract may not be guaranteed beyond this year. Not sure about that one but I'll have to investigate further.
