Man I really love what Saunders has done with signing the veterans this off-season.

Andre Miller to mentor Rubio and Tyus Jones, Prince to mentor Wiggins, Lavine, and Muhammed, and Garnett taking KAT, Dieng and Bennett under his wing.

These veterans are going to help accelerate these young guys in transforming to professional, well-grounded and mature NBA players.

Raptors and Jonas Valanciunas apparently close to an extension around something like 4yr,60M(so like 15M+ per year).

Given that the cap is going up, this obviously isn't a bad deal for a starting C since this deal is for 2016-2017 season and onwards. Based on what other Cs are getting right now, I'd say JVs value would be around 11-12M under the current cap, but with cap going up, the 16-17M range his deal sounds like, seems about fitting still.

This comes a few weeks after someone on grantland.com went on about how JV is gonna be demanding a max contract extension.

Houston re-signs Jason Terry for 1yr at the vet minimum, adding depth to an already deep roster...had dialogue with Pelicans and Jazz before deciding to re-up with the Rockets.

Jason Terry has agreed to re-sign with the Rockets on a one-year deal, league sources tell RealGM's Shams Charania.

JV deal finalized. 4yrs,64m. Begins in 16-17 season. Great deal consifering cap increase over next few years. Also gives raptors leverage in future moves, knowing even more key guys under contract through 16-17 season,so they'd have better idea how much money they have to work with.

Great deal for the Raptors. Extending young guys who have shown real promise should be the MO for every front office. If you think the deals handed out this offseason was crazy, they'll look like nothing in two years time.

                  Good offseason for Toronto.

So JR re-signed with the Cavs today. Reportedly a two year deal making 5 million this season and a player option on the second year. They also gave him a no trade clause.

It all just comes down to playoffs. Win a series for once! It was a completely diff team after the all star break. They swept the Wizards in regular season, but then get swept in the playoffs by the Wizards....At least they've fixed up their D.

I hope they do re-sign Ross as soon as possible, cause his value is at a real low right now,so why not try and get him re-signed, cause I really see him improving alot this year since he gets to go back to his regular SG position.

Valanciunas is fantastic. Now let's get him a real head coach please

I don't know if Casey will be fired or not. Seems like Ujiri likes him alot, and he even got good grades among other teams staff members during a ESPN poll. He does make questionable decisions, but really, would possible replacements be much better? Having guys getting use to new coach/system, would some of them even like it?

And getting Biyombo helps out alot though, cause before when Casey didn't play JV, there was no real alternative to play in his place. Now you have a proper backup in his place. Sounds like plan is still JV in first 3 quarters, Biyombo in 4th quarter(and then whatever minutes inbetween in first 3 quarters whenever JV needs rest or just gets in foul trouble).

They did have one of leagues worst 4th quarter D last season,so having someone like Biyombo in there for 4th quarter will obviously help.

Wonder why they would give him a NTC for? Because depending on who a team would offer me in a deal, he's certainly not an untouchable asset.

Always felt like that only a handful of elite players in the league should have that.

Pack, I would be more shocked if he didn't get one. I think most players in the league have an NTC. And on your second statement, don't start following the NHL, if you play in the league, there is a 99% chance you get a No Movement clause after signing your second contract.

No, there are very few NTC clauses in the league.
