    FWIW

@JasonLloydABJ: I've been told reports of extension for Tristan Thompson inaccurate. No deal struck, nor do #Cavs seem interested in reported 3/$53 million

I thought he was going for the max?

Isn't that his maximum ? Seems huge to me. So how much are the cavs over the cap ?

If true they'd owe $78 M in luxury tax.

                That's close to 18M a year. It's crazy high.

                  Re: 2015 Offseason Thread

The dude was averaging 2ppg in the finals before they started intentionally fouling him. He can't shoot or put the ball on the floor, not long enough to protect the rim, and is a good rebounder but not elite, especially considering he spends so much time at center. LeBron out rebounds him when he wants to, and TT's rebound numbers were so good because he was playing 40+ minutes.

Basically he's a guy who'll give 110%, one of the best offensive rebounders in the league, give all his effort on defense too, and a perfect fit for Cleveland.. But **** that's a lot of money for someone who realistically is average.

Not to mention he's going to be a 6th man.. None of these guys who routinely are in the running for 6th man of the year will ever make close to that amount of money.

I'm on board for Cleveland keeping him, he really is a perfect fit.. But **** man, how does he figure he's worth that kind of money.

If he resigns though Cleveland has Thomson, Andy, Mozgov, Love, and Khan. Might be time to move Vareajo if they can find a team to take him midway through the year. Technically they could deal Andy and the trade exception from Haywood and take on about 20mil in salary right?

Those Joe Johnson rumors could start up again. Would love to see them try and get Gallo/Chandler with Hickson or something since Denver will suck and likely move towards a rebuild.

What if they trade for Melo lmao.

Yeah I was watching sportscenter at the time and they came across the screen with breaking news that him and the cavs agreed to it via chris Broussard and then 15 minutes later corrected it lmao.

But no 18 mil a year is way too damn high for this guy. I get you gotta keep Lebron happy but this dude just grabs boards like its candy and last time I checked that's valuable but if that's mainly what u do it ain't that valuable.

@Chris_Broussard NBA SOURCES CONFIRM AGENT RICH PAUL WILL HAVE TRISTAN THOMPSON SIGN A 3 YEAR - $53 MILLION CONTRACT WITH CAVS.

I would have thought after the DeAndre nonsense, any stragglers still sitting around not convinced that Broussard is a complete joke would have finally bought in to what's been known for years now.

When I look at Chris, I just imagine Mark Cuban spending money to build a machine that would send him to another universe. Maybe TacoCorp can help fund that project.

I love TT. He's my favourite player and I love his effort but he needs to calm the **** down and know his role. He's a double double guy which is valuable but only when he starts. He's incredibly consistent which I love (check his averages per 36 since he came into the league season by season) but an inconsistent Love putting up 25 and 15 one game is better than a consistent TT getting 10 and 10.

He needs to do some work. He hasn't got post moves, his hook shot is sketchy at best and his mid range jumper, other than that one shot against Atlanta (?) is non existent. If he can develop his game more to be more than just a workhorse who grabs boards then maybe he's looking at being a max player but he's not there now. Still got time though he's still young.
