Yup, came up on the NBA Game time app as well. He'll be out 3 - 4 months. Luckily for them they have depth with Dellavedova, Smith, Harris and Mo Williams all capable of playing minutes at the 2.

Bulls say Derrick Rose was struck in the face by an elbow during today’s practice & sustained a left orbital fracture. He will have surgery

If there's a silver lining to this, at least it's not another knee/leg injury.

To be fair though, I mean it's somebody catching an elbow to the face, that can happen to anybody.

Damn, that could have done serious damage to his eye. I except him to miss the first few months of the season to deal with this on an emotional level. #channeling3King

Can't be mad at the guy for taking an elbow to the face.

Let's see if he's tough enough to play on. Didn't Conley/Westbrook suffer a similar injury last year and play through?

its an elbow to the face. Even if he misses time it'll likely not be more than a week or 2 at best, i mean the reg season is still a month away.

Michael Qualls picked up by OKC.. Undrafted because of his knee injury. I could see him having a very Tony Allen like career, if they stick to the whole Waiters as a 6th man thing I believe he could be a future starter as a defender for them.

It all depends on how serious of a break it is...sometimes you can be back in a few games if the break isn't too bad, but you can also end up being out several weeks like Larry Sanders was in 13-14 when over half of his orbital floor was damaged. If the procedure goes as planned and there isn't substantial damage to the area, Rose should definitely be back by the start of the regular season.

Question for Bulls fans. Has the overall perception of Derek Rose deteriorated as low as I'm hearing. Almost everything I've read suggest the majority of Bulls fans are fed up with Rose to the point they want him gone.
