This is what I would do if I were in any of these guys shoes honestly. Unless I knew for 100% that I wanted to stay where I already was.

But then again I don't know how much money these dudes are spending. I'm a simple guy, making what they make would be fine for me even if I had some sort of injury and never got the huge contract.

He'll definitely be underpaid, but then again he would make nearly 5 mil next year just to play basketball.. Like I said it's an easy choice for me, but I know how materialistic these athletes can be.

Definitely a possibility for him to do it, but I think he'd be nuts to pass up this max deal. He gambled on himself and won once already, I'd quit while I'm ahead if I'm him, especially since he plays with and was sitting right there with a front row seat of just how quickly EVERYTHING can change with your NBA career when Derrick tore his ACL. If Derrick hadn't already signed that extension literally 3 months prior to that game 1, he would've been ****ed.

I dont think its farfetched, especially if hoiberg doesnt work out and the cavs spank them again and it becomes clear there not going to really contend for more than a second rd exit or ecf at best, i think he could bolt to a team better suited to win with him as a big contributor and still get paid.

Raptors main needs right now I'd say are:
          1.Starting PF
          2.Backup C
          3.Backup SG
4/5.Veteran bench players(which could tie in with 2/3,but doesn't have to)

Of all potential FAs,I'd say players who fit each need:
          1.Aldridge/Millsap/Thompson/West/Johnson
          2.Perkins/Biyombo/Aldrich/Ajinca/Koufos
          3.Lou/Crawford/Shumpert
          4/5.Prince/Richardson/Jefferson/Pierce

1 and 2,any 1 of those guys would be good option for Raptors,Amir for PF as one of last resorts(he's good and all,but his ankles can't hold up all season).

Like I said before, many good backup C options,Perkins would be good to have,is one of those guys who fills the #2 and #4 criteria(veteran player, and he'll be a bench player at position we need).

There really aren't alot of SG options out there for bench role....

As for the veteran options, any one of them would be nice to have, Richardson specifically I'd want though. I think Ross has potential to be like a Richardson type player,so having Richardson as the guy who can help out Ross, would be great to have.

Wasn't he projected as someone that would need a few years to "develop" when he got drafted?

Yes but it's been four years with little improvement. And no sign of making improvements.

Oh no you don't NO. He needs to come home, not lock into y'all mess for five years.

Anthony Davis established himself as one of the NBA's pre-eminent superstars during the 2014-15 season, and the Pelicans rewarded those efforts on June 30 with a five-year, $145 million extension, per Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

Anthony Davis established himself as one of the NBA's pre-eminent superstars during the 2014-15 season. Now the New Orleans Pelicans will likely be looking to lock him up to a long-term contract this summer.

According to John Reid of the Times-Picayune—and to the surprise of absolutely no one—the Pelicans are expected to make "an assertive push to sign star power forward Anthony Davis to a five-year extension that exceeds $143 million starting on July 1."

Davis, 22, averaged an impressive 24.4 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.9 blocks in 36.1 minutes per game this past season. The third-year superstar has continued to improve, too, increasing his averages in all three stats in each of his first three campaigns in the league.

It remains to be seen if Davis will choose to wait until the NBA's new television contracts with ESPN and Turner Sports kick in next summer and increase the salary cap. Regardless, as T.J. Beisner of MyCN2.com noted, Davis is going to be a rich man:

                  T.J. Beisner @Beisner_cn2
On July 1, the Pelicans can offer Anthony Davis a five-year contract that will top $30 million/year at the end.

                  He is 22 years old.

If NO can't retain their own franchise players, there's no reason to have small market clubs at all.

That's one of the more ridiculous statements I've ever seen around these parts and that's saying something.

Right, because big market teams taking away budding superstars like AD from a small market team would be so great for the competitive balance of the league.

Can New Orleans just offer the max qualifying offer whenever he's restricted anyways? Do they have to do it like Chicago where they also offer a regular qualifying offer?
