re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
Yes, but they also go hand and hand with the way Brooks allowed the offense to be ran.
Both are ball dominant and no, they are not Steph or Klay when it comes to off ball action. But would you agree if they had a coach like Pop we would see much more off-ball action from the role players?
I feel like Brooks gave the opposing team the ability to hone in on his offensive scheme overnight and it stunted the team's effectiveness as a whole.Comment

The problem is there is no "coach like Pop".. Every time people want to bash a coach, or bash a coach hiring they act as if it's just easy to find a better replacement, assuming there even is one.
I'm not trying to say that Brooks is the perfect coach, but when was OKC or now WAS going to lure Pop from San Antonio? Just being realistic about it, there aren't many coaches that you couldn't pick out just as many flaws from as you can Brooks.. A small handful, and they aren't leaving.

Your last point, I don't disagree with it but I don't agree with it though because when Durant/Westbrook/Ibaka were all healthy, they were still one of, if not the best Offense in the league and pretty much a lock to get to the WCF every year. All while playing that same style. Check out the link I posted earlier since it does bring up your point about it's effectiveness.#RespectTheCultureComment

OOO yeah, I fully understand Pop is the holy grail. It was more or less a rhetorical question and an example that a good coach can utilize players in different ways.
I can agree that there aren't many great options out there as well. I just hope he realizes Bradley Beal is not that type of player and he can succeed with off-ball action schemes. That's all.
So, I was thinking last night. Who would be good coach for the Lakers young core? And do we have a chance in hell to get Boogie Cousins since SAC has pissed in his Cheerios?Comment

They might as well make Cousins the HC and Rondo his Assistant HC.#RespectTheCultureComment

What y'all think about Whiteside going to Dallas in the offseason? Think they might go after him after DeAndre Jordan's fiasco last year?#RespectTheCultureComment

I'd rather have him in DC. We need somebody to clean the boards because Gortat and Nene get pushed around too much.

I'm still cautiously optimistic. I don't like how he handled all the pieces on THAT team but that doesn't mean that's how he'd approach every situation. There are no Durants or Westbrooks on the Wizards so he'll have to take a different approach. I guess it's one we haven't seen before so hard to judge.
Excellent write up from Zack Lowe regarding Brooks and the Wizards.
Now that the Wizards have a new coach, just what kind of team will they be -- and what can the Thunder show us to answer that question?
Pretty much brings up everything that has been discussed good and bad about him, while going into more detail.Comment

I think Brooks will do well in Washington without all of the pressure he had in OKC. Hope he does alright.
I think McHale would have been a superior hire though.Twitter: @TyroneisMaximus
