Told emphatically by league source there's no chance Russell Westbrook will do a renegotiation/extension of his contract (one yr remaining).

re: 2016 NBA Offseason Thread
It just dawned on me that this scenario would've been the equivalent of the 2010 Celtics adding LeBron.
- Celtics have big three. Celtics beat LeBron in Playoffs. Celtics lose in NBA Finals. LeBron joins Celtics.
- Warriors have big three. Warriors beat Durant in Playoffs. Warriors lose in NBA Finals. Durant joins Warriors.Comment

If y'all don't stop posting that tweet from damn near six years ago...
Someone tweeted earlier that Oladipo got traded from the Magic to the Magic. Poor guy.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

I get it from a perspective that you want to get rings, I do. Because in the end your legacy is decided primarily by that.
But I don't get it, from an inner competitive standpoint.
Seems like none of these dudes want to be the alpha male. You'd think Durant would be angry and focused on beating Golden State instead of joining them lol

I didn't think Durant would do it. Good for him. Big teams like this make me want to watch the NBA more. Dallas already won a championship and won't for awhile so I don't care where Durant goes.MLB: Texas Rangers
Soccer: FC Dallas, Fleetwood Town
NCAA: SMU, UTA
NFL: Dallas Cowboys
NHL: Dallas Stars
NBA: Dallas Mavericks

"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."Comment

The 1980s-1990s mentality isn't there anymore. Guys are too focused on their brand to truly hate their rivals, for better or worse.Comment

Man, OKC had the Warriors four right there and they blew it.
Durant made the right move."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I just think the twitter verse is uneducated on the past. They think this is new. It's not."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied.
