And another thing. An all expenses paid trip to China for two is pretty nice wage for a freaking barber, no? My barber only gets 20 bucks for a haircut..

This is exactly what Phil was talking about. People will bend over backwards to rip this kid.

No No No... This is not what Phil was referring to. This was in the article in the ESPN Insider piece.

Phil was referring to the Colorado jet charter.

We can't really prove that Bryant thought those things about the Colorado charter jet. Its pretty funny to me that Phil pretty much admits that he doesn't like Kobe.

edit: also he gets mad as kobe for not running one time. Why not get mad at shaq for being so lazy and fat?
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

It must have happened as he kept a diary of things that went on. Even James Worthy wasnt objecting to this when it was brought up. How does he know, because he knows Phil and whant he did.

Kobe also admitted he didnt like Phil but this was during the season so what does it matter?

I agree that the Shaq thing was bad but he also dealt with Shaq on a different level, and I'm sure there were plenty of things that made him mad besides just running like not listening to him, cursing him out in practice, throwing the ball at his feet.. you know

still even though kobe acted like as *** at times, your still setting yourself up to fail when you give one superstar all the attention, and forget another one.

Say you worked the same position as another guy, but the other guy was getting all the exceptions and was noticed by the boss, wouldn't you be mad.

It's #1 that Kobe had an issue accepting that Shaq was the man. Plain and simple.

Shaq brought the team ALOT, and he made the game much easier for Kobe.

Sayin things like I'm tired of being a sidekick, refusing to shoot, taking shots from your teammates, breaking the teams offense, cursing the coach warrants some other type of discipline.

Amazing how Shaq was the focal point and they won 3 rings, but when #8 tried to take it over they lost.

BTW, looks like Kobe got the most preferential treatment of them all.

I know if I wanted to be the best I wouldn't want to be a sidekick eiether ...

Kobe got what he wished for, whether that is good or bad for his career ...

he gets a chance to prove to US that he is one of the greats and can be the "greatest" ...

I expect to see a different Kobe out there with monster #'s , will that leads to team success I dont know, i cant predict how the team will mesh, but the lake show winnning it all is not impossible, for this year it is ...

Kobes still young, the distractions are behind him, give it 2 or 3 years to get the right pieces around him, and dont be shocked to hear the Lakes are world champs for the 2008 season ...

You people need to be careful about making these huge conclusions about someone's personality on the basis of what could VERY EASILY be incomplete information. How do you know that Kobe's barber hadn't been warned about this type of thing before? Maybe he has a history of "slacking off", or being late for appointments. Don't forget that he IS an employee of Kobe Bryant and Kobe was gracious enough to bring him along on the trip. On the day in question maybe Kobe said, "you can go sightseeing all morning, but i need you back by 1:00", maybe 1:00 rolled around and the barber wasn't back, maybe 2:00 rolled around and the barber still wasn't back. So, now Kobe is thinking "WTF? i bring this dude to China with me and he can't even respect one small demand I make of his time?", what would any of you do with such an ungreatful freeloader!?

I'm not saying this is what actually happened, but you really do need to be careful about making judgements based on information from sources/writers who clearly have certain motives.<!-- / message -->

Then color me judgmental then... I'm not out to see Kobe fail, heck, I'd even applaud him if he were to get his life straight and make wiser decisions.

Referencing the article in question, it stated that WHILE the barber was out sightseeing with his mother, Kobe decided he wanted a haircut at that time. There was no set time that said, OK, meet me back here at such-and-such time. Again, because I see things like this and put it with other things I've read and heard, I'm inclined to believe that this dude has a problem in dealing with people. Heck, he even shut his parents out of his life for awhile because they didn't agree with him marrying that little high school girl.
