That pick could be used to flip for another star in CLE this year. About the best they could do in the situation.

Will be interesting to see how LeBron plays this....

Other than what OJ said, it's a good point.

But those years before the max contract are huge. Plus being a year younger into that max.

Also, and this is imo the biggest reason, not many people believe in IT. Last year was his breakout season and he's turning 29. Kyrie, for all his faults, was a breakout point guard from basically day one and he's only just now 25.

Boston got four years younger, a more explosive, proven player, and a better chance that when max time comes, it will be worth it because of track history.

I really wonder if Kyrie's gonna be able to be more of a playmaker. He was really ideal next to Lebron.

I wish Kyrie luck man, I've always liked him..

Hopefully Stevens can help him to continue to grow as a player. Beantown is trying to hang a banner, so being the man is going to have to come secondary to playing team ball...

I wonder how IT is feeling right now. Obviously it's a business and whatever, but man. Dude went through all the doubt that he did and finally found a home, started talking like he was gonna be crowned king of the city and they shipped him out. Cold blooded.

I still think he was going to walk in the offseason regardless. He made it pretty clear that he was likely going to follow the money.

That's definitely possible. I figured they'd work out the Kyle Lowry deal like the Raptors did. It's just like... not like this lol. It wasn't supposed to happen this way. Not to him.

Will the Cavs keep the whole package or flip them for somebody? I'm still curious where Wade and Melo will end up.

Can't discount IT's hip injury, which at one point was believed to need surgery, and the height difference, while minor, plays a role too.

To me the biggest part of the deal is that draft pick. If Cleveland ends up with a high pick and the player turns into a superstar it will be a bit of a tough pill to swallow for Celtics fans but, who knows, that Lakers pick the Celtics have could potentially be high too.

Cavs are in interesting position. If Lebron is leaving(and management knows it), do you try to go for it one last time, or focus on rebuilding? Lebron is your best shot at winning anything, but would you really deal a top 5-10 pick for a rental just to make a single season run at beating the Warriors?

Maybe Cavs will do that Love-Melo deal, and then add Wade afterwards.

There won't be any "focus on rebuilding" as long as Lebron Ramon James is still on that team especially in his last contract year(Player Option but the point still remains).

So really, they have no choice but to go for it even though we all know this current roster doesn't give them a better chance against Golden State.

Not sure if the Cars trust LeBron not to bail out and flip that Pick for some Vet help now.....Would be pretty bad if LeBron left after doing that.

They have some much needed flexibility going into the season though. If LBJ, Love and IT really mesh and play well together, to the point where they think they can get LeBron to stay, I could see them packaging that pick and Tristan for another All-Star caliber player.

LeBron in Brooklyn would be a weird sight to see

I think Pack would have a heart attack if it happened lol.
