Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
I think Shams, the one who officially broke the Irving trade, brought light to the rumor. Who knows how serious it is. It could just be speculation because there was talk of LeBron wanting to be in New York. To me it makes sense LeBron would want to stay in the East. There are no guarantees in thr West but any team he heads to in the East automatically moves to the top of the back, 2 seed at worstComment

This is going to take some getting used too.
After sleeping on it, I still think Cleveland made out like bandits in this trade, but I'm excited to see what Brad can do with Kyrie, Hayward and the young guys.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
The dude who broke the Kyrie trade said it last night.
And Blake Griffin was asked about LeBron coming to LA a couple days ago and said he thinks LeBron will be headed to New York. He said "I think something is brewing with him and his group of guys. I don't know what's going to happen, but I think something's brewing and they're going to try and make that work".

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Love him or hate him one thing you can say about LeBron is that he's made smart moves throughout his career by jumping ship at the right time for a better chance to win. A move to Brooklyn to play with the banana boat squad is the opposite of that.
Not that that can really happen anyway, unless they all take really low deals or some dumb team(s) bail Brooklyn out by taking contracts like Mozgov, Carroll, and/or Crabbe off of their hands. Even so, he'll likely have better opportunities elsewhere. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

We're not going after any of the Washed Banana Boat Crew.
I'm still confused as to how this even got started in the first place.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Here's a question. Before the trade the big thought was that the Celtics were going to have to resign IT next season, most likely for a max deal. Now that that isn't a necessity do they now have money to sign another max player? I know they need to eventually extend Kyrie but I figure by that time Hordford will be on the way out and they can find a way to dump his salary.
I don't know too much about the salary situation but I think it would be a major plus for the C's if this trade allows them to sign a big free agent next season. As good as the Brooklyn pick might be, signing a proven player in the league could give them a better chance to win sooner.Comment

IT money can't just go to a free agent. They could go big on him because of Bird Rights.

Gotcha. I wasn't familiar with the cap situation or rules. That's a little disappointing for the C's.Comment
