Man, I think it will be different if Kawhi went the to the Lakers. When KD left the team he was up 3-1 on. Warriors were 73-9. And then lost the finals in game 7 by 4 points. Is completely different.

I don't think Kawhi is going to join the Lakers. But it would be different if he joined the Lakers.

But God OSU-88 is so right though....I'd be so happy with the NBA.

I think the positive here is Portis can slide to the 5 in today's NBA, and Randle might be able to go 3-5 if his perimeter D keeps improving. So I don't think it's quite the log jam people are claiming it to be as of right now, and both can spread the floor a bit.

We didn't have a power forward on our roster at all coming into FA, and really only Mitch at C, lots of front court minutes to fill.

Man, if Kawhi goes to the Lakers I'm definitely going to say that I'm done watching the NBA.

            This should be interesting.

League source confirms the @ChrisBHaynes report that the Bucks are signing Robin Lopez using their full Room exception ($4.8 million). It's a two-year deal with a player option in the second year.
Did you just make that up?

I can't wait to see back to back 3's from both of them

Robin is one of the most underrated players in the league IMO.. his game has never been pretty or flashy, but he moves well, runs up and down, rebounds well, defends, and finishes inside too. And he can pass and sets screens as well as anybody.. I feel like at 4-5 he's in competition for the best contract in the entire league.

Tomas Satoransky... the Bulls could win a championship this year and I’d bum rush the trophy presentation to STILL demand GarPax be fired.

Knicks are basically doing what the Nets did to get in the position they are today, but are getting hammered for it.

Dumping on the Knicks is the cool thing to do so it’s expected. *shrugs*

yeah the more i think about it, these signings aren't really a big deal at all. they're short term deals, low risk, high reward, and it's clear Kawhi wasn't coming here anyway. If there was a shot he'd make his way here we would've waited.

Not a big fan of bullock either but I can't get that mad. People like SAS will flip their lid on TV just to do so

I think for me I'd have liked to see them take fliers on more under the radar type of guys, scrap heap picks if you will. There's nothing wrong with these picks at all in context but I feel the big difference between what the Nets did and what the Knicks are doing is they gambled on low cost moves. Even Philly did similar in the past when they were rebuilding and got those young scrap players for pretty much pennies (RoCo for example). I don't think it's bad but I feel like at this point we know who Taj Gibson, Reggie Bullock and for the most part Bobby Portia are. Maybe they surprise and add some new wrinkles to their game these next two seasons though.

But on the plus side none of these contracts are egregiously long and are extremely trade-able especially if the future years are partially guaranteed or non-guaranteed.

Yea but they did a lot of that last year, and still have roster spots and space to continue to do that. They need to spend money, and they want to have some vets and make the situation a little better for the young guys to develop. With the lottery the way it is a full on tank like last year doesn't make a lot of sense. They'll be bad next year but i think we want to see improvement
