    2019 Offseason Thread

The recovery time isn’t just for the ligament to heal it’s for it to be usable on the surface they’d be playing. So football or soccer, anything played on turf where cleats can get caught in the turf are going to take longer because more gym work has to be done to strengthen it. Not to mention a running back cutting to juke a defender is putting way more stress on the knee structure than an basketball player is changing direction.

In the NBA, it’s pretty Impossible to put your foot through the floor. Six months seems realistic. It’ll just be a case of simulating contested layups to test the flexibility of his knee. The ligament itself will heal within 4-5 months most of the time.

I'll give Pelinka some credit on Dudley and Daniels though...at least he's strayed from the playmakers and memes he and Magic signed last summer...so far, anyway. Dudley just needs to learn how to shoot again. I didn't watch Nets games, did he forget how to shoot or was he just never open?

Just a theory obviously, but very plausible IMO.
        This is amazing.

The only thing I can think of to make this offseason better for the Jazz is if Kawhi stays out East and the Lakers whiff on getting a third star

Even if Leonard goes to LA, I'm still very happy and confident moving forward

Did the Nuggets get retracted or kicked out of the west? Mind you I like both squads but the Nuggets are pretty deep and top to bottom look scary as hell. Especially if Michael Porter Jr works out.

Kendrick Perkins returning in 7 months is the quickest I've heard if a NBA player returning from an ACL....but he's the GOAT...and not a guard, lol

Magic number seems more like 9-10 months. If anyone can break the mold its Klay...

I just looked at Love’s contract and honestly if he can get back to 70% of the player he was in Minny for us as well as being a good vet, then that contract looks a lot better than it seems. It’s mid loaded too, dropping in season 4.

Then we let him walk at age 35 and retire his number.

Still way over the cap for now.

I'm biased but I would have taken the Jazz over Denver in a 7-game series last year. They got pushed to the limit by San Antonio and lost to a Nurkic-less Portland squad when they had an easy path to the WCF.

Millsap isn't getting any younger. Not a big fan of MPJ, I just don't think he can stay healthy. Hope he proves me wrong though, they have a really good squad but they need one more piece to put them over the top IMO. Harris and Murray are really good, but neither is an elite talent in the backcourt yet.

Meanwhile the Jazz have completely revamped their roster for the better, and Gobert almost always takes Jokic out of the game. He's a nightmare matchup for him.

Meh, neither the Jazz or Nuggets have a superstar that can flat out takeover yet. Mitchell still has potential to progress into that and if he does, then I'd probably rank them 3rd in a world where the Lakers have Kawhi, with GS being 2nd.

GS is being severely underrated somehow. Don't be surprised at all to see them as a top 3 team next year. They've somehow re-tooled very nicely. If D'Lo doesn't work out for them, he will somehow be flipped for somebody(s) that will because that's just what Bob Myers does.

GS just lost the best two way two guard in the league to injury, one of the best defensive forwards who both happened to average 20+ points per game. DLo will give them buckets but he will also give up plenty. The backcourt for them in general has taken a big step back defensively. Green needs to prove he can at least be a 15 point scorer consistently and keep up the same glue effect if the Warriors are to be a top half seed.

I think getting DLo will save their season though. Relying on Curry to do all their scoring would’ve been tough. He’s capable of course but you don’t want it.

Yeah they're up there and although Jokic is the best player on either team, I like Utah's starting 5 better in a playoff series, and as far as their bench, they have seasoned, quality vets. I think Nuggets, Jazz and Sixers are the deepest teams

Free agent guard Emmanuel Mudiay has agreed to a one-year deal with the Utah Jazz, league sources tell ESPN.

                                Mudiay to the Jazz? Hmm...
