    Re: 2019 Offseason Thread

2 of the top 5 most coveted FAs now out with season or almost all season ending injuries. Damn that's crazy.

Best case scenario for Klay is probably a return around March. I'm betting he stays with GS.

IDK if it's Pelinka, Rich Paul, the Lakers, or all 3.. But these dudes really have some agenda against something that has nothing to do with them.. That's humorous.
You forgot Dan Gilbert's CP3 email? It's the Lakers.

Heard on WFAN on the drive in today that the Nets think DLo and Kyrie can work together. I doubt it's the top preference for a pairing but if KD, Kawhi, Butler, etc. sign elsewhere then they'll keep DLo.

          I really don’t see it. I guess as a last resort but I definitely don’t think it’s their Plan A, B, or C.

That's been the word for a while. Dlo liked a picture of both their jerseys together within the last week I think.

The Lakers will have to pay that Troll Toll... I mean, Lakers/LeBron tax.

With the developments of the past week (KD and Klay) injuries a Lebron/AD (plus potentially another good FA) led team should be the team to beat in the West. Most GM's won't want to facilitate that unless they're getting something above and beyond out of it.

Getting AD out of the West is smart, but at the end of the day, Griffin is going to do what he thinks is best for the Pel's. If that's dealing with the Lakers then so be it. However, they're going to have to pay a little more since Klutch played a major role in destroying their season last year, just one season after they had the most team success of AD's career.

Guy who runs ROC Nation Sports has a twin brother who is the CEO of the Nets. Kyrie is basically a sure thing right now.

I get why everyone thinks the agent matters, but then I don't. Draymond signed with Klutch, is he going to the Lakers? Does every Roc Nation Sports client play for the Nets? Just a weird route.

I do think Kyrie is going there btw.

I think each situation is unique. There was already a ton of smoke/rumors for Kyrie-to-BK gaining momentum, then you get news like this. It could be nothing but it's also hard to ignore.

I wanted to say I'm happy we finally got that annoying thing known as actual basketball games out of the way so we can move on to the best part of the NBA calendar...

                      Spoiler

Looking forward to the madness that will unfold in the next couple of months in this thread.

Kyrie must not care about winning... or money.... but he is a FA and can go anywhere he wants. Best of luck winning anything with Moonbeam running the show, Nets fans.

Exactly. Then you throw in the fact that not many people fire their agents like 2 weeks before the start of free agency and hire their replacement the same day. Then the agency they choose to go with has several ties to one of the franchises in the running for said player who's been "rumored" by the most respected NBA reporter out there who is as well connected as anybody in the league as having VERY real interest in said franchise and is seriously considering them in his decision. That's a lot of red flags to expect to just ignore it for the "does this guy signing with this agency mean anything too" angle.

All of the other red flags are the reason I said I think he's going to the Nets.

I'm just saying I don't see the advantage in signing with Roc Nation before he goes to the Nets specifically. What does your agent being the team's CEO's twin brother mean to Kyrie? I would expect nothing, it's just coincidence, but it doesn't really matter either way.

Synergy? Maybe he wants to play for Brooklyn, feels he can have more control of moves the team makes if his agent is the team CEO's brother? Maybe he thinks it'll be cool to play for the Nets AND be repped by Jay-Z's company? There could be a lot there.

Not surprising: Windhorst reports GSW will offer a full 5-year max to both KD and Klay.
