because most of it stemmed from him not being at game 7 because of a medical procedure.

There was some far fetched scenario where the Knicks could afford Max FA1/Max FA2/trade for AD--I believe it required them not picking up Trier's option. Obviously, that was a pipedream, but it's something to note.

KD and Klay both re-sign. Warriors miss the playoffs as they recover. Warriors somehow win the lottery.

In 2020 the Warriors return Steph, Draymond, KD and Klay along with the #1 pick. Let the hate re-commence.

All that means is I saw it first way back then before it became glaringly obvious to everyone else. You don't agree with my opinion which is fine, but if you still want to believe missing your team's most important game for an optional procedure (meaning it could've been scheduled at a different time, it wasn't an emergency procedure) doesn't make you a bad leader, that's on you.

That's a nightmare scenario for the entire league.

No surprise, but Klay's dad says he's a lock to re-sign.

Yeah, it'd be more surprising if he went elsewhere. Klay and Steph are joined at the hip.

Like I’ve said all along. It was a pipe dream that Klay was going to break up the Splash Brothers

                    Candace Buckner

The #Wizards have no imminent plans to reach out to the NBA Champion Toronto Raptors to speak with Masai Ujiri, which means there is no massive offer being prepared... I've been told by a person close to the organization.

                    More details coming.

Well as far as we know, there has been no offer, so she's right until she's not.

This was in the face of some earlier one's saying they had a big offer prepared or they were going to do it as soon as the Finals ended.

Oh I know lol. There were what 4 or 5 different reporters saying the same thing.

This also happened with Tim Connelly. Reported he was given an offer, but Candance came back after the weekend and said no he wasn't.

I wonder if the Raptors winning makes it more/less likely that Kawhi stays?

I was thinking once it looked like they would beat Milwaukee that he might go the 1+1 route, as I’m assuming signing with Toronto long term was never in his plans regardless.. but now that they won, I mean he’s already achieved what he would want to achieve with that group. Is he headed to the Clippers/Lakers? Is that maybe even a reason the Lakers are pushing harder to keep Kuzma>Ingram even?

Kawhi is a hard guy to read. Most guys you have a clue what they're doing and might give you a few surprises. But with Kawhi, he's a different dude. He values culture and winning over everything else. For Toronto, this was the best case scenario. They won the championship in year one without the need of another superstar. For Kawhi, he stayed healthy and showed he is a top player in this league. I know Lowry was kinda joking in the interview they did but him saying "he got me what I wanted" is how I think a good portion of Toronto feels. Where they would love for him to stay, but if he leaves there wouldn't be any hurt feelings because he achieved main goal in first year. So I don't think there is nothing else for Toronto to sway his decision.

I don't see Kawhi doing a 1+1. Main reason players do that is to keep options open and to potentially get a bigger contract later. Kawhi doesn't seem like that type of dude. I see him signing a long term deal somewhere. I would say Clippers, Toronto, Lakers, Knicks/Brooklyn. Clippers are the favorites to me. I think there is a chance he returns to Toronto but I don't think long term that is a good option. Whereas Clippers have some good young pieces and potential cap space to sign another star alongside him.
