So if you're Durant, do you opt into the final year of that Warriors deal? Or do you bank on some team being desperate enough to still offer that max and just sign with whomever is willing to offer it?



This also pretty much guarantees that the Warriors will not be playing with KD next season one way or another.

He’s opting out. It would be flat out stupid not to unless he just doesn’t care about money. Worst case scenario he opts out and can sign a short term contract for more money than that option would give him. If anything though, an injury like this would seemingly make him more likely to sign the full max deal rather than risking his health on another short term deal.

Grizz hire Bucks assistant Taylor Jenkins. Don't know much about him, but if they had to hire an unproven assistant level guy at least one from Bud's tree isn't a bad one. This coaching turn over year after year makes it painful to realize they couldn't hang on to guys like Hollins, Joerger, or even Fizdale..

If one of the next young pieces they get don't hit big the Grizz may just fall back into irrelevancy. Already among the league worst, if not the worst, in terms of being profitable. Not an attractive market at all. And most of the actual Memphis population largely don't care even when they are good. Especially now that the Tigers brought in Penny because the Tigers are all they care about. Saddens me to say, but I wouldn't be all that surprised if one day in the not so distant future the Grizzlies are moved.

The lakers are just the only team that makes sense to trade for AD. The only question is will they hold out till after FA or play hardball and try and hang on to one of their young guys.

I'm not saying it's going to have any impact on where he ends up, what the haul is, or whatever, but this has to be the worst handled trade situation I can remember, just from an optics standpoint. I can't think of a single thing said in this AD saga that made anyone on his team look good.

Yea its been a disaster and it could actually get worse depending on how long this drags out. The Lakers appear to be bidding amongst themselves for the most part so it comes down to how much they are willing to play poker or just cave in and give them everything. I don't see why LA would give them the grandfather offer before the draft starts. They offers post July 1st will likely get a lot worse.

There's no way AD isn't a Laker before the season starts. It's just a matter of how much LA ends up giving up to get him.

If the Lakers were in the lead he wouldn't have to say any of this. Rich is scared and pulling out all of the stops. He knows Boston is a threat and that's why he mentions them specifically. It's only going to get worse over the next week.

If the Pelicans liked the Lakers package, then a deal would have already been done. The Lakers best chance is finding a third team to give up an All-Star level player. If not, I don't think their deal gets it done unless the Pels really fall in love with someone at #4.

AD doesn’t want to play in Boston. It’s a fact whether Celtics fans and Ainge want to believe it. Time to move on for those of you who still want to blindly believe otherwise.

I suggest doing the same with whatever delusional dreams you have about Kyrie while you’re at it too.
