Seen a few people pose the question, "If the Pelicans liked the Lakers offer wouldn't a deal already be done?" Could be some truth there. Maybe they really are just trying to find the best return form adding a 3rd team, or maybe they are trying to drive up the offers from teams other than the Lakers.

I also think it really depends on which teams want some extra cap room and decide that getting back a top 5 pick might be the best return they would get. Like Miami sending out Dragic and Richardson, Pistons sending out Drummond, Cleveland with Love, etc.

There's also the NBA Finals factor. There's no chance in hell the league would have wanted that kind of news to come out and overshadow game 6 or a potential game 7 of the Finals. So you know they would have talked to the Lakers and Pelicans and told them they have to keep that quiet until after the Finals. If the Pels truly want the Lakers deal over what else is out there. I'd expect to hear the story break Monday morning or at least Monday evening after the Raptors parade.

Kyrie must not care about winning... or money.... but he is a FA and can go anywhere he wants. Best of luck winning anything with Moonbeam running the show, Nets fans.

Sucks that KD will miss the season and Klay won't come back until at least after ASW and between start of Playoffs. But really looking forward to offseason this year. Next year feels like the first year in a long while, where it feels like a open chance for anyone to win it next year. So I can see a lot of teams, going all in for this year.

Sucks that KD will miss the season and Klay won't come back until at least after ASW and between start of Playoffs. But really looking forward to offseason this year. Next year feels like the first year in a long while, where it feels like a open chance for anyone to win it next year. So I can see a lot of teams, going all in for this year.

I agree its awful the flip side is the Warriors will have to fight just to even make the playoffs next year. Hopefully FA will help make a few more title contenders and interesting teams.

Masai to Washington has been.....shut down.

Larry Tanenbaum(the owner you saw get trophy last night), said Masai isn't going anywhere. Basically called him family and said Masai has everything he wants already.

If Masai even thought about leaving, for sure he'd let higher ups know.

I think Warriors season depends on when Klay comes back. I think they try to max both KD and Klay, so they will have tons of cap tied to players who won't play(Klay late in season). I do believe the rumors that Livingston might retire because he didn't have as big of role in playoffs in past years. I don't see them resigning Looney because they will need as much cap as possible. They can't rely on Curry scoring 40 a night or getting consistent scoring nights from Draymond and Iggy..
I do see alot more middle tier teams making big moves to be able a contender. So I do expect Lakers, Clippers, Nets to make big enough moves to put them in contending status. Knicks chances went when KD went down. Unless they pull a big name, I see them doing a youth movement
